I cannot believe that I was just about to be scammed today.
I called them on their 0800 number because I had a problem with my email.
They said I have a virus and they showed me hackers which were around 7 of them.
How on earth can i have a virus on my computer when the scan shows 'no infection found'?
I took it to PC World and they told me all about this scam. They just wanted a slice of my hard earned money.
I am pretty sure that these people are based in India and they kept telling me that they were based somewhere in US. I could hear a lot of people speaking in the background in their own language which was not English or Spanish.
Bunch of SCAMMERS !
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I had a problem with my hotmail and they fixed it in 10 minutes, they are excellent people. I also bought a one year tech support with them and I am really happy with the services they provide, i get a free service call every fortnight from them. I think you have a misunderstanding about them
I had a problem with my Yahoo email account being hacked. I googled tech support for Yahoo and an official looking page popped up which gave me an 800 # to call for support. I called and the phone was answered by a very helpful person. Net = change your Yahoo email password. He represented that his company, TechSupportMart.com has a contract with Yahoo to handle all of Yahoo's support. I suspect that this is the beginning of the scam.
He asked me if I wanted to check my computer to see if I was hacked. I said yes. He hooked me up with a web site that provided him with the ability to remotely run my computer. He opened the windows CMD box and ran a variation of NETSTAT which showed him that I had been hacked. He spoke very, very fast with a strongly Indian accent which was difficult for me to understand. I constantly had to ask him to repeat himself.
He showed me 7 entries in the CMD box which were labled Hacked. And said that my ITP address had been hacked. He told me he could remove the hackers so that they could never return for $139 including a year's tech support. The price was right but the sales pressure was intense which made me suspicious. I did not make a decision.
I have investigated the use of the NETSTAT command and have concluded that it is possible to determine if someone is hacking your computer at any given moment. There are a couple of good UTube videos and articles which support this not very widely known ability. I found nothing in my investigation which supports being able to detect that Hackers are currently living in your computer which will be clearly labled as "hacker" when the correct command is entered into the windows command prompt window. Which is what the Tech Support Mart technician did, I suspect this was accomplished via some sort of proprietary program. It's really suspicion that both myself and the poster of this item both had 7 hackers.
That night I received an email proposal of services to be offered to provide support for all 5 of my computers.
I responded with an email asking for details about services they offered in the sales proposal.
My request was met by a high pressure sales telephone call offering answers to all of my questions. I said I wanted my questions answered in writing. I've received no reply.
Thay try to scam us today, my wife called them by accident, and they have to face me after with many questions, they was pretending to be a Microsoft people, when I told them am going to log a complaint about their number he opened his website, which looks hackers website anyway as not much information available, beaware people, . I am in the process to make a complaint further to microsoft, and also to criminal police so they can track them, I am Indian my self and don't says all Indians or other nationalities are bad juts few in every country and every community. I have received call many time from UK and never blamed any accent or people, scammers are scammer without the color creed, country or religion, keep it to simply to scam problem rather going further and taking a advantage to abuse Indians.
YES IT LOOKS AS IF TECH SUPPORT MART ARE SCAMMERS! I am not usually 'taken in' by scams but got 'caught' as tends to be the case when in rather a 'panic' and a bit vulnerable! All I wanted was help with my hotmail; was waiting & unwell at the time - for an urgent email to pass on some info. to a friend. I looked up on Google (now THEY must be 'party' to this too!) how to contact Hotmail! Got the UK freephone no. [protected]. Phoned up, asked if they indeed able to help with Hotmail; got reply 'Yes'! Then, unbelievably for me! let them have remote access to computer - 'amazing' windows/pages showing 'several foreign hackers'! They pressured me to 'put things right' by offering me a 'contract' to purchase from them 'AVG Malwarebytes 2012'; duly accepted. Oddly I got charged payments split into two totalling $300 . I duly called to complain (& Yes, checked my phone bill that I hadn't actually got a premium rate no!) that what I had 'purchased' was not 'fit for the purpose under the Sale & Supply of Goods & Services Act 1982'. In fact the so-called anti-virus kept on 'flashing up' right in front of whatever I was trying to work on & I removed it as was very concerned indeed about what else it could be 'doing' on my laptop! Duly took laptop along to local expert - took it in 'cleaned it up' - his opinion was I'd been 'scammed'. I called my credit card co. who told me it could be difficult to get recompense but duly sent me forms to fill in, which I have done, attaching copy correspondence. However, I could only provide the website, phone no. & email address! I was informed they 'have offices in Los Angeles and Middlesex, UK'! I asked for the Middlesex address; also asked for reason as to why the payment was split into 2 payments! NO ANSWER forthcoming on either point! I actually did receive an email 'notification of refund' from 'Tech Support Services' on 2nd August as a charming sounding representative, who told me it was fine to quote his name: Mike Williams (strange! he sounded Indian & not the 'native American' kind - to me!) had told me the previous week they were 'proud of their customer service, wanted customers to be happy and would REFUND! 'After all it is nothing to us'! I BET IT ISN'T! I called the previous week, having checked with my card issuer to find NO refund had been received; called again Mon., 13th Aug. re-iterating this. A lady answered, 'spoke to her supervisor' - told me I should be refunded by this Wed., 15th Aug. On previous phone call I was told they 'needed 5 clear banking days'! Well, doh! - last week's Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday ARE 5 banking days! ALSO I may add that when the 'charming Mr. Williams' offered me a refund, he did ask me to remove/amend any posts I'd made online! I so politely agreed & amended some of them! despite it seeming like a 'thinly disguised threat' I cld. see right through! I have told them my card holder will be contacting them & had duly sent off the requisite forms, as was 'running out of time' with them. Now unless there is a 'miracle' I doubt I will ever see my money again! I may 'harass' them from time to time on their very quickly answered freephone no.! But I am now going to 'shout in capitals'! I DOUBT I WILL EVER SEE MY MONEY AGAIN! I will keep on posting/blogging to an extent myself & when busy, get all my friends and contacts to do the same so more & more 'customers' find out they are scammers. Careful not to get confused by a co. of a similar name; we are talking about TECH SUPPORT MART USA despite my calling their UK no.! Indeed, my payments did go through to Los Angeles; but a registered address has been found nr. New Delhi, India! I may never 'see my money' again, but they've picked a hell of a 'fighter' in me!
TECH SUPPORT MART USA not to be confused with companies of similar name Something strange appearing in my text above but I believe they are SCAMMERS
report to FTC and save future scams.

And so it goes on. I had a problem with my Yahoo e-mail and contacted TechSupport Mart in desperation. I was told they were the outsourced support for Yahoo based in America, I believed them despite all the Indians voices in the background. It took 48 hrs and numerous calls to eventually get a call from the real Yahoo support, another Indian lady who fixed the problem with my password in about 10 Minuit's. I had to deal with 6 diffract "experts" from TecSupportMart all of whom didn't seem to know more than I did. I was eventually told I would get a full refund by one of their "managers" it has yet to arrive and I doubt it ever will. They are real SCAMMERS how do we stop them?.
I agree supportmart.net is a scam. I bought some software from walmart and called the phone number for tech support. They told me I had virus problems which I knew because I bought software for that reason. I believed them and they worked on my computer I found out they did not know much about computers. I paid the 169 dollars for one year services and they took 80 dollars out without permission. I canceled my services and they refund me 100 dollars. The have lied to me laughed at me about getting back the 80 dollars they took without permission. I am reporting them as a scam to the FTC I doubt I ever see my money back. I have attempted to get help from this company to return the money they took for me and have waited 7-10 days many times along with many 24-72 hours. I now just give up it was a scam.
We have been scammed by Tech Support Mart. We had problems with hotmail and my husband got the help number off the internet. He thought they were Microsoft and allowed them remote access. Like so many of you have said, they told him that our computer had viruses and that we needed software to fix it. He paid £129.99 for antivirus and technical support. Our computer has not worked properly since. We cannot access the internet since the computer freezes. My husband has spent hours on the phone trying to get them to fix the computer. Today I spent about 2 hours asking for a refund and requesting that they put the computer back to how it was before they accessed it remotely. Despite the screen being frozen as we spoke and them being able to see the screen they told me it was working perfectly! They said they would give us a refund but I am now not hopeful. I am so worried about what they have done to our computer as it hasnt been working properly since they remotely accessed it. I am going to report them to the fraud office if I do not get a refund.
Last year I bought software at my local Wal-Mart. I was having trouble with it and called the 800 number that was suppormart. I paid them 169 dollars to fix my computer. They downloaded free software or trial version of software some which I had already tried. on 10/04/12 they took 80 dollars out of my account without permission. I was so mad I canceled my services with them. They give me back 100 dollars of the 169 but did not even acknowledge that they took out the 80 dollars. I attempted to contact them about the 80 dollars and they gave me the run around and made up dates they said the gave me a refund. Now on 02/04/13 they again took 80 dollars out of my account without permission. I of course tried to call them and got the tech support never got customer services or billing. I emailed customer support and got no response. I have contacted my bank and reported the fraud and they canceled my debit card and our taking action. I have also filed a complaint with the state Attorney general office to get some legal help I hope. I also have filed a complaint with the BBB but I did not get help in October. Supportmart is not only a scam but they are also thieves that will keep taking money out of your account if you don't pay attention.
This company is completely a scam. Even if you call them and ask them for 1 year support, they will tell you different price. Prices are not fix. They try to charge as much as they can from customers.(You can still try and do it ).The best idea is to charge back from the bank. More charge back will let them their payment gateway shut down.
Thanks

Ok so I had problems with mcfee. And i got supportmart's number through mcfee. When i called them they said that i need to give them access to my computer and i did. When they looked around they told me to go to safe mode with networking and did all this stuff and then told me that i had a virus and it will affect your internet and all other computers. scared n convinced i bought the plan for 200$ because they told me that their "technicians" can fix it and all they did was too control of my computer and downloaded scanners online and ran them then told me its clean. I smell Bull-###. Then to make the matters worst they made my computer worst I started getting this blue screen problem and they had problems fixing it them self thru 3rd party. One of the Technicians quote " Give me some time, I need to research this problem." WTF? your suppose to know whats the problem to fix it not get on google and research how to fix my problem. This is a SCAMMMM DO NOT GET ###ED BY SUPPORTMART. Their a company from INDIA selling ### by using White people's FAces and false info to make you buy their expensive plans.
To make matters even more worst, these ### decide to charge me twice the amount of what they told me ($400) on my credit card. YOU THINK I WOULDN'T"T NOTICED? I called them and complained about it. They told me "yes we understand, we will refund that back to you"... "please send us a document of your payment"... Mother ###er you don't have a document of the payment? YOU WANT ME TO PROVE THAT I WAS CHARGED $400? I did it i sent them proof of my bill. (took a picture sent it by mail). Told me 3 days and my money would be in my account... Never happened. I try emailing them back asking for when my money will come in...They BLOCKED ME>...< I try calling them again at customer service... it's 24/7 support. No one to pick up and an automated answering machines says we are open mon-sun till 10 pacific standard time. GUESS WHAT? Its 7:00 here at pacific stardard time. I try contacting a technical support instead for this ### im dealt with and when they answered I talked to him (Maved Malik) about my problems and demanded a refund. After all the hoops and hassle i've went thru he finally said he will schedule me an appointment at 12pm tommorrow for my money back. I waited... waited... waited... 4:00 I called them up and complained and demanded for my money back. My name is Zai and I'm a Very PISSED customer of SUPPORTMART. DON"T FALL FOR THEIR TRAP! SUPPORTMART IS A SCAMMMM!
I've recorded my conversations on my phone with them but this site only accepts photos. I'm working on making youtube video of this audio file and hopefully ill be able to give you a link to my channel for you to hear my conversation on getting my $400 dollars back.
Supportmart is a shady company. I got Supportmart thru HP. I called them regarding an issue that I was having, they sold me a package for $169.99. Kept me on the phone for 3 hours, did not resolve my issues, then they hung up on me. I called back, they indicated they would call me back the next day. They did call back, kept me on the phone for two hours and did not resolve my issues. They then put me on hold and never came back on the line. Then they called me four months later with a customer satisfaction survey. In reality they were trying to sell me a another package. I explained to them my dissatisfaction with their service and lack of professionalism. The representative informed me that they would reimburse my $169.99. I have never received that refund, instead they charged me 2 months later $239.99. This was an unauthorized charge on my account. BE AWARE DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!
This is a scam! I called with a problem with my email, thinking this was Yahoo because it was listed as yahoo support! They were willing to help and took my card number but was not going to charge me until the next day so I could talk to my spouse about it first, because I really did not want it; well they charged my card $400 that day! I have a dispute going on with them as of this day with my bank! It was all lies told to me! Fraud! I found out they are not even with Yahoo at all. I cancelled my credit card as soon as I called and found out they had already charged to my account ! THEY ARE SCAMMERS!
Same as above was done to my partner, when I got home I pulled all the leads out of the computer and had a stand up row with the technical guy(hah!) Contacted the bank and have to fill out forms, but unlikely to get money back. Can you believe I've just had a curtesy call?! Asked if I was happy with the service, err NO. After fixing the Yahoo account, then he offered a 2, 3 and 5 year package of support charged his card before doing any other work. He tells me he added Malware Bytes (which you can get as free downloads)
I've have moaned and questioned exactly what they have done to that computer and apart from using the words virus and trogons a lot thats all you get, he's phoning me back tomorrow. Now I've read all your listings I'm feeling much better. I think I'll tape the call if I can, I'll also be contacting yahoo and Trading standards too. I have since purchased Anti-virus software for £40, it's a lot cheaper!
They used the names Shaun Hall and Scott Ruskin also Amber Smith.
I can think of a better word than SCAMMERS.
They didn't actually fix yahoo, they said they did, we're not going to use this computer anymore, it's old and i'm going take it off the internet and just use it for playing music and photos. forgot to mention that bit!
tried to con me too but luckily i didnt give em any bank details however stupidly gave em remote access...### need to be shot dead and beaten badly!
something needs to be done about these f-ers! they told me my hotmail was being hacked! i really hope they dont do anything dodgy thru the remote access i gave them...they hid my anti virus and said i didnt have one1 cant believe company still in operation! they were sooo dodgy and unprofessional! thank god i didnt pay a penny! they told me to pay 70 pounds to get lifetime hotmail protection! i wanna kick their heads in! hope they all die in that building!
I'm having the exact same problem with "Support Mart". Constant excuses and assurances since Oct 2013 to refund my $350 taken out of my bank account. Unfortunately at that time in Oct 2013, they must have gotten smart and said they couldn't charge on my credit card. Overnight they took out the $350 from my checking account. Within a week I cancelled the contract renewal which was supposed to start Feb 2014. Since then in Oct, I've made 18 calls. They are most dishonest despite their smooth assurances. Support Mart is an absolute fraud and scam. I advise all to stay away.
Don't purchase anything from Tech Support Mart.I purchased 3year Anti Virus, it worked OK for 15 months, and when iI phoned they are very helpful, then I had a Avg page kept coming up, saying that the licence was running out.I have been trying to call the 0800 number to no avail, also tried e-mail several times with no answer.Think I will have to put this down to experience and as i have read since on this page i agree all that has been said.
Yes I too was scammed in exactly the same way as most of the previous posts and they are still ringing me trying to get more money out of me two years on! Also yesterday I had an Indian sounding gentleman ring me pro porting to be from the HO of my bank in the fraud department and tried to get me ( in a very roundabout way) to go to my bank and withdraw £3000 go home and then ring him back to stop the so called hackers emptying my account. I am sure this chap, a so called Martin Taylor (funny how they all have English names) was linked to tech support mart as he gave me details of the amount of money I paid to them in 2013 as a way of trying to persuade me he had details of the transactions on my bank account, who else would know that other than my bank! So be aware as there is more than one scam going on here. Anyone who has paid them should contact their bank and put a stop on any more payments to them to try ensure that when their cover runs out they don't try and take another payment. Disgusting people.
I have been cheated for £1200 what do? and how do I recover my money. Initially they were good and helped me in fixing computer issues, but an year I cannot get in touch with them and I was supposed to be their member for life.
