I received a recall notice in June 2023 from Ashley Furniture that warned of a potential FIRE in the electrical system of a recliner I purchased. After 2 months and 7 phone calls, I have not received a single return call and just now when I tried to escalate with the recall answering service, they told me there was nothing the recall phone center could do as they had already escalated this 4 times! I then called Ashley's customer service and was told they don't deal with recall issues! So around and around we go with no help from any quarter.
However, I am not a quitter so I will write this review in hopes someone else will think twice before buying furniture from someone who is in the business of not servicing their customers when there is a potentially life-threatening situation. I will also reach out to the local newspaper as the public loves the David vs. Goliath story. Lastly, if permitted, I will sue them in small claims court for a full refund. That probably is not permitted since they are not in the same city as I am but at least it gets their name associated with a lawsuit all in hopes the next person does not fall for these same games. Shame on you Ashley for treating your customers so poorly.
Desired outcome: Refund the purchase price for the recliner
