It was so unpleasant that we, a party of three left the restaurant after being browbeaten by the most obnoxious server I have ever encountered after simply requesting a straw for sanitary reasons. The server began a rant about the use of straws and continued to raise his voice to an unacceptable level. We were told they were “all out of straws.” That raised a flag to me immediately
Our beverages were served in plastic glasses and straws were not provided. The staff there must have been living under a rock (which I suspect they were) for the last two years and refuse to acknowledge that the pandemic worldwide is far from over, or the owner will not spend $ to purchase straws.
Passersby on the street were aghast and remarked "What is this- no need for this!" The owner should rethink his/her hiring decisions. There have been lots of bad reviews written about this place (all ring true) which echoed to me.
Excuses are never acceptable when the restaurant is at fault and in most instances, even when it isn’t. Customer service is the opposite of arguing.
By the way, we were the only 3 customers sitting outside -so they clearly were not too busy to act appropriately and in a civil way which is what a diner expects to say the very least!
