I am so DAMN fed up and pissed off at The Great Escape. We bought a pool there, over $5000.00 and over FIVE WEEKS AGO. We were PROMISED installation THREE weeks ago, but someone dropped the ball with permit requirements. IT IS A DAMN JOKE.
THEY DON'T CARE - THEY ALREADY HAVE MY MONEY.
NOW I AM PAYING INTEREST ON SOMETHING THAT I CANNOT USE - AND GOING ON VACATION THE DAY THEY "INSTALL" IF IT IS NOT CANCELLED AGAIN - AND PROBABLY WILL NOT GET TO USE IT UNTIL LATE JULY BECAUSE OF HOW LONG IT IS GOING TO TAKE TO FILL AND HEAT UP.

NOT HAPPY AT ALL - BUYER BEWARE FOR SURE - JUST LIKE CHAMPION WINDOWS THEY WILL PROMISE ANYTHING TO GET THE SALE - ONCE THEY HAVE THE SALE THEY DO NOTHING.

I have found much better deals over the Internet. They said they will pay a 5% refund if we show them a better deal.

Why do all the work for them? I wait for at least 30 minutes to talk to someone when I call.

I want out, but they won't provide a refund.

The Great Escape, Boardman Ohio is the same! Rude and downright disgusting to deal with...buyers run! Andy, the store manager is unbelievably ignorant! It is true that once they get your money, they will not do as promised. Don't believe their estimates of cost for installation either! They will do anything to sell a pool and then screw you! The Great Escape is HoRRIBlE!

We bought our pool and paid for it in cash. Was prided installation with in 2weeks -umm yea try a month later to then find out we paid for a filter on our receipt and when they delivered something everything they didn't deliver filter. So when the pool installers showed up they could only do so much and we had to wait another 10 days for that to be installed. The owner Andy was a complete jerk when I brought this to his attention. I called there just to let him know that I was unhappy being most of his products came with 30 warranty and that had completely passed. His response was and so has your refund policy that was up before anything was even delivered or installed so all you can do us wait or I will give you a filter off the showroom floor but part are missing. I responded and said so I paid for a brand new pool and u want to give me something with missing parts ? He said it works ... I told him I was very unhappy with him and his customer service and he then said I don't care and hung up! When trying to reach him he would never return my calls. Buyers please be aware ! I wish someone would of told me prior to spending my hard earned money there so my family and I could make our own summer memories in our back yard .. And one last thing our filter has not been working right since July and its now Oct and our pool should be closed but we are still waiting for service to be done .. Truly your paying customer that will never step another foot in your BOARDMAN store or do any business with your great escape company! I'm very disappointed!

After 3 months of promises to install a new pump from a hot tub that I bought from Great Escape 3 years ago I finally had to cancel the job due to extreme frustration. Don't buy from them, they won't service your product once they get your money. They are rude to you if you push your complaint.

The one in Boardman and the one in Macedonia are rude and nasty. You can find a better deal some place else. Seems like all the store managers are Coughlins ( losers from Litehouse pools.)...And Andy is a ###...

I agree. They talk a lot of Hot Air about how great they are but when you meet them you get turned off right away. Its amazing how these people ever got hired in the first place. The owner must be clueless.
Their prices are WAY WAY overpriced.

It is quite clear from the tone of these complaints that the "customers" are shills (or possibly employees) of competing companies. The Great Escape is by far the lowest priced company in Ohio on pools, spas and accessories. Service has never been a problem for me nor others who I have happily referred to them. As for delays, our pool took an extra couple of weeks to install...because it RAINED FOR A MONTH STRAIGHT. Now anyone with a brain would understand that working outdoors is WEATHER dependent. Be a smart shopper and compare ALL options, don't listen to a couple of malcontents or competitors lies. Shop SMART.

I completely agree... After talking with store manager Andy in boardman, I was completely turned off. No thanks. Burnet pools here I run... I mean come!

Andy is a complete Coward Who refuses to accept that He's a Total ###! The Great escape's Customer Service Is HORRIBLE! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY DEALING WITH THESE ###

Matt Coughlin (Macedonia Great Escape) made all kinds of promises over the phone and assured me of a great product and install. As soon as I paid, the install was (and still is) a disaster, the responsiveness to correct it is nonexistent, and the phone calls are full of assurances to push you further down the calendar. Eventually, they stop returning your calls until they find out that you are one of the few willing to pay real money for legal action. Anyone who does not want their summer completely wrecked better not do any business here!

Purchased theater chairs $4000.00 and the leather is damaged on all three chairs. They sent someone out to review chairs and they agreed all the material is defect. So great escape is not willing to give us new chairs they want to come out and replace material all over. I don't want that I want three new chairs. I informed them the two days after delivery I noticed the material. I want new chairs they are not responding or not willing to give us three new theater chairs. Will never shop with them again. I'm reporting them to the news as well.
