We purchased a cottage in the U.S.A. and we live close to Spencerville Ontario . Now it just so happens that the Cottage had a Quadra Fire Pellet Stove in it. The pellet stove has worked fine for over 8 years with out a bit of trouble. For whatever reason this year it would not work. So I googled Quadra Fire to find out the closet service location. The closest place that handles and services them said they would not even look at it as we had not bought it from them. I told them that maybe the previous owners had they asked there name and told me they had not bought it form them either. So I was still SOL which really does not say much for the company Quadra fire itself if there reps won't service the product.
So I called the Stove Store in Spencerville, ON and told them of our dilemma, they said that hey would help us out and service it but they can not work in the U.S.A. so we would have to bring the stove to them.
No problem I said... well its not just that easy you have to unhook the chimney and have a couple strong guys to help lift it then you have customs to deal with yeha! Anyways after having said all of that it is now here in Canada and at the Stove Store in Spencerville they received our stove on Oct. 13, 2008. I have called them numerous times and have spoken mainly with Joyce or Dianne and let me tell you can they ever lye... First they will say that they have not had anyone look at it yet that they are busy... So you wait a few more days then you get more lies oh the tech that was going to look at has had a death in the family they will get someone else to look at it... then oh we have ordered parts for it, again more ### . So on Oct. 31Friday I called and was told the tech would fix it on Sat. Nov 1st. By this time I was finally feed up and said fine but come Monday I would be ther to pick it up (Nov 3rd ) . So on Nov. 3rd I called around 8:15 a.m. to see if the Tech had fixed the stove ... And guess what more ### out of Joyce's mouth the tech that had to NOW weld something on our pellet stove had to go out on an emergency call... but when he got back in would fix our stove and put the parts on it, that had been ordered in. I informed Joyce at this stage that I didn't give a ### what the story was that I would be there at 5:00 p.m. to pick up our pellet stove, fixed or not . GUESS WHAT NOT FIXED BIG SURPRISE the tech that had been gone since early morning and had not been back to the shop at all today, nor had there been anything ordered for our stove... and Joyce was actually stuiped enough to tell me that no one had even looked at it in three weeks. To add insult to Injury I do not know if it was left out in the rain but ther was a good cup of water inside the pellett stove... Joyce said the roof must be leeking on the shed where they put our pellet stove... AGAIN IF YOU CAN BELEVIE THE FILTHY LIARS...
TERRIBLE SERVICE AND OWNERSHIP ALL THEY CAN DO IS LYE TO YOU. USE THEM IF YOU HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO WITH YOUR LIFE. I'M TRYING TO SAVE SOME ONE ELSE THE GRIEF, OF DEALING WITH INCOMPETENT PEOPLE!
I cant agree more with you We had purchased our first gas fireplace from these people and they have been nothing but a nightmare to deal with when it comes to service. As a direct result when we had our money saved up we wound up purchasing our other three units from there competitor. How have been absolutely fantastic for service after the sale. The Stove Store should not even be in Business.
The stove store has gone above & beyond to help us with our old home. Quick repairs were made to the chimney to get it up to code, and last Spring 2008 - purchased a new oil furnace and a water softener. Excellent quality products are sold with professional service.
