This class is a real waste of money and time. The owner of the company doesn't care about your succes. All that she cares about is if she gets paid or not. I don't recomend this class. You will not learn what it takes to be a dental assistant and you will not find a job. In my class of six, only one found a job and it pays minimum wage. The sad part is the owner needs money badly and fast. She will not care if you can complete the neccesary tasks to be a succes. She just wants money. Thats all she talks about. I don't have any more money. She took it.

The comments and complaints against the Valley School of Dental Assisting and Dr. Katie Karzen come as no surprise to anyone who has a clue about legitimate education and teaching. This is just one example of several where dentists who cannot make a living as a dental office practitioner decide it is easy and cheap, due to a lack of regulation, to "teach" young men and women how to "become a dental assistant" and charge money for their so-called education and training. This doctor has a horrid reputation of providing courses and programs that are not compliant with regulations and no one does anything about it. She does just enough to get approved by the state and then offers crap for courses that give you nothing. She even uses unscrupulous financial aide tactics including the use of insurance companies that are supposed to be for dental treatment not education and training. All I can say is that unless you are planning to attend an accredited institutional or private school to become a licensed registered dental assistant upon graduation and completion of your state board examinations, then you should not even think about going through a course like this - besides, who looks for legitimate education by going through the Penny Saver?

My daughter enrolled in a half day seminar which cost her $300, to prepare for the RDA exam scheduled to take the same week. She drove two hours to Encino to get there and came home crying because the teacher didn't show up but instead some one else tried teaching. She spent all her time talking
about masks and basic information already known to the six (6) people that were there. The lady couldn't even pronounce several words or terms; the
enrolled people had to help her pronunciation. I'm livid that my daughter now has no preparation for her exam. DO NOT ENROLL WITH THIS
SCHOOL FOR ANY REASON! IT IS A SCAM AND RIP-OFF! They should be reported to the Dental Board, which i am in the process of doing.
