Here's the deal. The Wedding Authority in St Augustine, FL does business out of the Lightner Museum. They work in cooperation with St. Augustine Photography and sell Wedding packages. You will LOVE LOVE LOVE the courtyard, but TRUST ME DO NOT DO IT!
Both the photgrapher and the Wedding planner STINK with a capital S. They are unresponsive, uncooperative, and DO NOT know a thing about customer service.
Donna who works for the Photgrapher is RUDE AND MEAN!
I HATE THEM and they I HATED THEIR SERVICE.
Find another place and find another photographer...save yourself that heartache!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I just got married there this past weekend and found them great to deal with. We got married in the Amore Wedding Chapel right next door to them. The chapel is absolutely beautiful, and we used the courtyard for taking pictures and found it just perfect.
The ceremony was better then I could have thought. Bill really had it down to an art. He was great to deal with and did a very impressive job. Even my parents-in-law were impressed, which is hard to do. I loved the idea of the sand ceremony.
I did not use their photographer, so I cannot comment on them, but the Wedding Authority was nothing but pleasant. Enough so much I might just take another 4 hour drive there for the Christianing of our future kids.
I have to agree with the first post! I used them they were AWFUL! Carla Young is CLUELESS AND RUDE!
All of her staff was horrible too.
The only thing that made it any good was the scenery! And of course my gorgoeus groom!
Save your money or at least spend it with someone else.
I did not use the photographer, so I cannot say if they were bad.
I have to admit... I'm with the first and third posters... while I was only the "maid of honour", as a professional event planner for over 20 years... I was appalled at the service, or lack there of offered my best friend for her wedding. Phone calls were not returned promptly - promptly is more than 4 to 5 days. The same with emails. While I respect the "slow pace" of the South, customer service is NOT included in that agenda. The day of the wedding one of the wedding authority folks was to have the father of the bride there to escort her... they forgot! Thankfully I was able to motion to another friend and get him up and over. There were issues also with the cake and then the photographer - some lady. The pictures were a waste of money... completely. If the eyes aren't closed on one person the other is being hidden or... they were crooked -- SO crooked they couldn't be adjusted on my Mac! Thank goodness there were enough people with their own digital cameras that we would piece things together for some good wedding pictures.
It was very sad that the Wedding Authority claims to be that... an authority. They present a "package" deal and then don't stand behind their product. When something goes wrong on a car... you do to the dealership who sold you the car or the manufacturer NOT Delphi or some other company that made the individual part. A package is just that... the whole deal. My packages include a pretty well known pastry shoppe, when they screwed up... I TOOK THE HEAT - granted I shared the fire with the shop after but... it was MY package with MY vendors. I will admit though... the cake was very good -- kudo's to that vendor.
I would recommend the location as it was lovely, however, if you like good customer service -- which equates to returned calls/emails within 24-48 hours, the ability to ask and have questions answered, someone who stands behind THEIR product & recommendations... don't bother. If you are looking for a really neat spot for the ceremony and want NOTHING MORE from them -- bring your own officiant, do your own decor, have your own coordinator for the day, absolutely your own photographer, then by all means, rent is as a VENUE alone.
