The following website https://thegeorgiagazette.com/ scans mugshot photos from local jails that are posted for short term. The they post them forever on their site. In turn its on Google search forever as well linking to their website. It's for all arrest no matter of people was guilty or not and minor charges etc. They also doctor the frame of the picture up with blue lights. It's purely done for them to profit off advertisements on their website. This could cause people to lose jobs. They also have a Facebook Page called The Georgia Gazette where they post peoples mugshots and makes fun of their photos.
Desired outcome: Shut their website down
ok guys. Someone from the police dept had emailed me Matthew Sayle drivers license picture by mistake, and that wasn't his mugshot. They got me in touch with the right department and here is his mugshot and arresting information. If you want to get your own personal mugshot emailed to you just contact the washington county, Illinois sheriff dept at: [protected] and ask for the (RECORDS DEPT). Or you can just email Brittany Bateman at 889@washingtonco.illinois.gov she will gladly email it to you.

I fail to recognize the importance of this site.. Protecting the public? or profiting? The fact the site is a giant database of mugshots slapped with ads shows its true intentions.
I can understand informing the public of violent felons and such, but posting the mugshot of people that can be generally good people that just made a mistake (theft, DUIS, low tier Misdemeanors), and ruin their reputation based on a google search is pretty scummy.
Its rather a shame what this site is doing/has done. I cant imagine the number of job opportunities missed, relationships, etc. based on the damage done to this site. It also speaks volume to the state of GA for allowing sites like this to run for profit, when they themselves are not allowed to post mugshots on county sites and inmate inquiries
A lot of damage can be done while a person is out on bond. If your daughter was dating someone with multiple arrests for violent crimes, wouldn't you want to know?

Most of your mugshots are petty offenses. I could understand violent crimes or murders, but posting someone’s mugshot for having an expired plate? Why would the public need to know that? Your website does more harm than good. Potential identity theft, ruining reputations, ruining both people’s professional and personal lives. Yeah I don’t see a reason why TGG should even be a thing. Georgia needs to fix this.
Matt - "multiple violent crimes".. of course I would care for my daughter.. but the fact is that your site doesn't post "multiple violent crimes." You post *anything* that comes across the mugshot repository. A single dui or anything low level does not mean a person is a violent criminal or a career criminal. We all make mistakes.. hell I have a dui on my record, so do you... at the end of the day, do we need to be smeared based on our past mistakes?

I just want the people to know that your voices are being heard. It seems as if People bullied matthew sayle into changing his policy as far as mugshots go. The second chance policy wouldn’t be there id he didn’t get outed on the news or on this website. But honestly this isn’t good enough. He has tarnished the reputations of thousands. I will absolutely join in, please give more details this site has effected my personal and work life, all for a misdemeanor that I haven’t even gone to court for yet. This man is despicable and repulsive and has no right ruining the lives of STRANGERS and disrespecting them and their dignity. Myself included. Even more, he’s is a raging hypocrite who has a criminal record (DUI). I want in on this.

I don't exactly have a dog in this fight as they say, but I stumbled upon one of Matt's mugshot facebook sites and noticed he just has mugshots of people without even saying what their supposed crime is. Someone could be there for letting their driver license expire or maybe they are suspected of murder, but it's clear when someone stumbles upon this, they might assume the worst. I emailed this horrible person and he is dumb, witless, talentless, and lacks empathy and has a definite personality disorder that is a danger to society. He absolutely does not care what he does to other people and how much he destroys their life. Well, maybe I'm wrong. I think he does care actually and he gets off on destroying peoples' lives. This guy could be a legit psychopath. Not sure if he realizes he's putting his own family at risk, maybe he doesn't care. These people he plasters on FB have not been convicted or even had their day in court! He is going to get people hurt or killed. This should be by no means be called the Georgia Gazette. It's not news, it's the opposite of helpful, it's not informative, and Matt is less proficient in grammar than your average 4th grader.
I would also like to join this lawsuit. I have proof of a very unhinged email exchange between myself and this mentally ill man just this morning. All over a city ordinance violation. No record at all. I want to take him down.

Ask about the Ga Gazette lawsuits
If you have requested a removal of your mugshot, provided your documentation, and The Georgia Gazette has not removed. Please go to your local Sheriff's Department and file a report.
If your mug shot has been used against you, because you have requested the mug shot to be removed, please contact the Attorney General, Chris Carr.
If your mug shot states something else beside what you were arrested for, contact the Sheriff's office of Bryan County or your Sheriff's Department.
Keep making those reports, and know every single sole in GA hates Matthew Sayle.

This complaint is filled with inaccuracies. First, The Georgia Gazette does not scan recently posted temporary mugshots. The mug shots are requested and provided by the sheriffs office in every county via a lawful open records request.
Georgia sheriffs are not allowed to post booking photos online, that is in violation of the law. However, private citizens, and news organizations, and anybody else who obtains the booking photos through an open records request is more than allowed to post them online and for profit. Please direct yourself to the Georgia attorney generals website regarding the mug shot website laws. The attorney general specifically posts on the bottom of the page that it is NOT illegal to run a for profit mugshot site.
The only thing that is not allowed is to charge somebody to have their mug shot removed. If they meet one of the eight exceptions that the Attorney General has laid out that would require a removal under the law.
The Georgia Gazette strictly complies with all Georgia laws, and when somebody makes a request and satisfies one of the eight circumstances that would entitle them to a legal removal their mug shot is immediately removed.
In addition, The Georgia Gazette goes above and beyond what the law requires and has an enacted a “second chance policy” on their website for people with minor offenses that don’t meet any of the 8 requirements required by law to take down to have their data removed anyways. this policy was enacted specifically to make sure that people with minor offenses don’t have their reputations tarnished and get a second chance even though the law does not require them to get one.
Therefore, your statement that the mugshots remain online, no matter what whether or not, somebody is found innocent or guilty, is completely false and inaccurate and defamatory. I would ask you to please cease and desist, accusing my clients of crimes, as that is definitely in violation of Georgia law.

When I googled my name the other day my mugshot came up but the article they next to name says 4 year old baby shot next to it. And the mugshot was for a public intoxication( a citation ) but I can see how that can be seen when any potential employer sees that. That made me really upset.
