I was referred to Dr. Morris by another Christie Dental dentist in early 08. Dr. Morris treated me for 11 months and immediately following the orthodontic treatment (32 days after), he initiated a reconstructive operation over my lower left quadrant (a seven unit bridge) on 3/24/09. As a consequence of these treatments I lost a healthy tooth, lost moderate amount of bone and ended up with getting 3 crowns over healthy teeth. My new dentist sectioned the bridge, I had a graft surgery for the bone loss and I am hoping to get an implant pretty soon. I am also currently going through another orthodontic treatment with a qualified doctor. It turns out that Dr. Morris used the periodontally compromised and distally inclined tooth as the middle anchorage of the long dental bridge. Dr. Morris did not even take my radiographs prior to the dental treatment. My insurance company denied paying for the bridge and thus Dr. Morris took my bitewing X-Rays on 3/30/09. However for some reason, Dr. Morris failed to diagnose my unique condition with the impacted anchorage tooth. I had plenty of pain and suffering for the next nine months until my new dentist sectioned the dysfunctional bridge on December 09. My impacted tooth was extracted this year by an oral surgeon. My primary complaint is not the fact that my tooth was extruded by Dr. Morris or I had bone loss in the impacted area or my midline was off by 4 mm at the end of the treatment. My real complain is the fact that the bridge was placed over the impacted tooth on purpose to cover up for his prior negligence with the orthodontic treatment.
