ToyGlobe.com review: poor customer service, refused refund! 42

This review was chosen algorithmically as the most valued customer feedback.

I purchased two toys for my son from ToyGlobe.com, a total value of $27.90. I waited and waited for delivery and finally receive a certified mail delivery notice in the mail indicating that I would need to sign for the item at my local post office, which is 2 hours away from where I am located during business hours.

This wouldn't work for me, so I called toyglobe's "customer service" line and spoke with Tony, the owner. Tony indicated that that he felt compelled to send all items to purchasers certified because of reports of items not being delivered (not to me, in general) when in fact they were received by the purchaser. (I am sorry but isn't that just the cost of doing business sometimes, and isn't that written off at the end of the year OR trackable through the post office). I explained to him that (1) this was not mentioned on his web site and would have influenced my decision to purchase from him, and (2) It is logistically impossible for me to pick the item up from the post office.

He became immediately argumentative. I asked him to resend it regular mail. He refused. I told him the item would be sent back to him. He heatedly told me that he was going to charge me the $10! for delivery and "insurance". (My first bad, I should never have paid that much, but it was a toy my child really wanted... you know the drill). I told him that if he insisted on charging me the $10 shipping/insurance I would contest the charge with my credit card company. He became incensed and told me I would be paying. I actually think he came close to threatening me.

Bottom line, sleazy company, incomplete info on their web site and HORRIBLE customer service.

BEWARE.

This company did nothing wrong. Everything was done by the book. It is people like you who mislead the public with there actions to satisfy there own agenda. I never became incensed or threatened anyone. This is a business and in business you try to accommodate every one as fair as possible (this one had no reasoning in her) and at the same time make a dollar, not lose money.

We have been in business for over five years and have NEVER cheated anyone we guarantee the sale or money back.

This does not sound like a sleazy company. I think that this person should take a GOOD look at the mirror and then judgment.

I also bought something from this company and I agree that their service is bad. They are very rude on the phone after I asked them to refund part of my purchase when I never got my whole order. They claim items are in stock when they don't even have the product. Also, it appears they bought my item for $15 less from eBay and had the seller ship the item directly to me. What a crap company. Just do a search on google for the phrase: toyglobe scam

Do some research on-line and you will see that toyglobe.com has a tons of complaints against them. I saw that they even respond to some of the complaints with a very rude attitude towards the customer. It is always the customer's fault. They never accept responsibility. This proves that they are a scam company. Here is their contact info:

We NEVER drop ship any items. Yes we do buy of e-bay and a lot of other sites, but that is the risk WE take. Our policy to the customer how orders from our site, is guarantee sale or money back.

So if Johnny (no last name) or Mike (no last name) have any disputes with us ( if they are REAL CUSTOMERS) they can contact us at the information Mike has provided.

I will be more than happy to answer any questions they have.

I never bought anything from this company because of the bad rep that they have. I did a search on them and there are tons of complaints against them. I even found a huge list of unhappy customers from the Better Business Bureau (BBB). Just do the search and find out for yourself. These ### companies need to be reported before they steal money from customers.

I was shopping online to find some Christmas toys for my nephews and stumbled onto this site. I am very knowledge about the internet and can find my way pretty good... thank god, I decided to do some research before placing an fairly large order from ToyGlobe.com. I have included the web links so some of you folks can read about this company. They have lots of complaints and problems.

If you read some of the replies from the company, you will see that they never accept any responsibility for any customer situation... it is always the customers' fault. They always blame the customer. What a load of crap... Customer service is definitely not there. It must be a two-bit operation running out of their garage.

ToyGlobe is a scam company. I don't need to place an order with them to find out. Just take some time and have fun reading some of their scams below:

This company is THE BIGGEST scam fest known to man. Its awful. I ordered a product for my girlfriend almost 2 months ago. Up until about 3 weeks ago I never herd from them (i tried calling a ton, it was pointless...emailed a couple times... It was pointless) then finally I got an email saying my product had JUST been ordered (we are talking almost a month into the order and knowing nothing about this) and that it would be at least 10 days before they got it... Then I would be waiting for them to ship it.

Aside from talking to quite possibly the worst customer service I have ever had in my life, where the guy (Tony I believe his name is...seems to be the main clown running this p.o.s. company) seemed to not take my claim clearly at all when I said I wanted my money back on my card; but this ### garonteed I would get my money back the following Tuesday (it was a wednesday at the time). A week went by, NO MONEY! I phoned again and when I asked "Tony" where on earth my money was, his response was "what do you want me to do, whatever, he (im assuming he ment his imaginary employee that sends my money back to me) forgot to send it".

I work in customer service, I am fully aware on how to help a customer, and the proper methods on what giving proper service to a customer is. This ### and his band of invisible employees, gave me quite possibly THE WORST experience I have ever had in my life, let alone it took forever to finally get my money back.

Tony, if by chance you are reading this, please take this to heart. I have told a ton of people how awful your store is, and if you ever want to lose the image of a slimey con man, then you/your employees, should learn some customer service, and maybe look up something called "efficiency". Most companies with a good rep have these things.

Honestly, DONT SHOP AT TOYGLOBE, IT IS A SCAM SITE.

To all our valued customers
We at Toyglobe.com are a hobby and collectable on-line retail company and do the upmost to service all our clients. We are a mail order business that tries to contact all our customers (sometime with no success) if there are any complications with their orders via e-mail. Our contact information (telephone number) is on our front page and we address all our messages.
This customer according to his complaint waited 5 weeks to get back to us, when he did contact us he then agreed to wait (knowing full well he had the option to a refund in full at any time) for his product that was on back-order.
Once we received his items we contacted him and he then rudlly demanded his money back. For a person how worked in customer service he sure didn’t sound like it. We then made the arrangements to refund his money. Unfortunately we regret over looking this issue and we apologize for that.

i orderd $100's worth of toys from toyglobe and at first i was worred because after 10 days (there max-shipping days to the west cost) i didn't recive my order, I e-mailed them and then went to /link removed/ and saw all kinds of complants, i was really worried now. but they responded to my e-mail and told me one of my orders was on back order and would be shiped out sometime the next week. i remained patient and recived my order, i admit i was a longer wait than i expected but i'm happy that i got my order and wasn't scamed.

I am extremely dissatisfied with Toyglobe. I ordered a set of eight figurines for my son's birthday the first week of July. Of course, long before they were shipped I received an email that I was being billed additional charges. I was upset but my son had his heart set on these items so I let it go. However, I didn't receive the items until the end of August. Long after the quoted delivery time! When the items were finally received, we had received only seven of the eight items. I immediately emailed the company and was told the eighth item had been backordered, and would be shipped to me in 7-10 days. One month has gone by, and I have not received my item. I have not received any response to any of my emails. I am currently planning on filing a report against them with the BBB and am considering taking further legal action. If you are researching this company,
PLEASE FIND A REPUTABLE COMPANY TO DEAL WITH. THIS IS A HORRIBLE COMPANY, THEY ARE NOT HONEST, AND THEY WILL TREAT YOU HORRIBLY AS THEY STEAL YOUR MONEY OUT OF YOUR POCKET.

HOWEVER, IF YOU HAVE MONEY TO FLUSH DOWN THE TOILET, AND YOU REALLY DON'T WANT THE ITEMS YOU ARE ORDERING, THEN THIS COMPANY IS THE ONE FOR YOU!

I ordered some Star Warstoy toys for my son for 2 months ago. Toyglobe charged my creditcard at once, but I`m still waiting for the toys that was supposed to be my sons birthday gift for over a month ago... Is Toyglobe just a joke? The only thing I can do now is to use the insurance at my Mastercard to get the money back, and then will the case go on trough Toyglobe and Mastercard. I`m really unsatisffied with this company...IT`S JUST A JOKE FOR ME, THAT I PAID SEVERAL HUNDRED`S DOLLAR FOR!

I ordered 2 Justice League dolls for my 4 year old over 1 month ago. My credit card was charged immediately for close to 100.00 Australian dollars! The e-mail notification I received said I would receive my items within 10 working days (and I was only sending them to a US address so a family member could bring them with them when they visit me next week). The dolls have never arrived. I have e-mailed TOYGLOBE twice to follow up on where my items are and received an automated response that I would be contacted within 2 business days. Each time - no answer. I have tried to call the number on their web site - guess what? - the voicemail box is full and I can't leave a message. I am very distressed this has happenend and my little boy will be so disappointed when the special event I bought these items for passes in the next two weeks passes and he doesn't have his special gift. I have never before come across such poor service in relation to internet buying. I don't care if TOYGLOBE buys the items from EBAY and sells them to me - fine... good - whatever... but don't take my money and not send me my goods - sorry but isn't that THEFT? And as for my little boy's horrible disappointment? Well shame on you TOYGLOBE! I think I'll stick with Amazon.com in the future - regardless of price! This company only hurts the reputable ones - it makes people fearful to buy online!

i ordered a full set of hulk marvel legends figures. the company policy is to email you 20 days before they charge your card. their policy also states that they only charge you once the item ships. well this apparently is far from the truth.

i was charged without an email letting me know this. i also was charged almost 2 months before any confirmation of shipping was received. my items were supposedly shipped by usps priority mail ( 2-3 day shipping ). i received the items almost 2 weeks after the confirmation email. the items were only shipped after numerous emails and phone calls asking where the hell they were.
on top of all that, they only shipped 5 of the 8 figures. the website lists them as in stock but they tell me that they were back ordered. i have requested my credit card refund me for the missing items plus full shipping for the missing items.
i will never buy from this company again.

I also recently spent over $100.00 on Toyglobe for a prresent for this coming Xmas.
It is a very hard to find item so I sent for it straight away when i found it on their site.
I paid and waited for the promised tracking number by email.
I posted an enquiry on the site asking about my delivery and asking for a tracking number as promised.
I had no response until after the 3rd message I had sent using the online form.
Eventually I recieved a response and they apologised and said they would send a tracking number, tehy had posted it and I should recieved it in 14 days.
Stll no tracking number.
I found a similar toy on Amazon and sentof another $100 and recieved it within 2 weeks no problem. Shame because it wasn't exactly the one I wanted.
I have contacted Toyglobe again, still no response.
After reading these articles after a Google search i have given up on the idea of ever getting the goods I paid for.

I totally agree that Toyglobe is a dishonest company. I spent EUR 200 ordering "Cars toys" for my little child since one month and nothing received yet, no answer from them, no news after 3 e-mail messages and each day there voicemail is full. Nobody called me back. But when they debit you bank account, they are very pro-actives, no need to ask them twice...This company is stealing us. What can we do ? Please, we need help to get back our rights.

I had placed an order for $75.00 with this company, and I too received no confirmation email or anything. Every time I email them, I get an automated email back from them stating they received my email and somebody will be answering my question by email in 1-2 business days. Well that's not happening! I have emailed 3 times and I will keep emailing these people until I get a response. I just want my freakin' money back and I doubt I will get it. My next step is to get their local police department involved- my dad has been a cop for 30 some yrs. and this was his advice. He has dealt with stuff like this before and it has worked. And I'm sure if my dad calls the department in Quebec they will be more than happy to help a fellow officer. To me, this is THEFT. They never sent me my order, therefore, technically they have stolen money out of my bank account. I really wished that this company would come through for me- I was expecting to give my sister her collection of Spongebob beanie babies for Christmas, but that's not going to happen. I wish these people had common courtesy to send me some kind of email or return my phone call. When I do call, I usually get that their mailbox is full and to hang up. Yesterday I did leave a message, but I don't expect a phone call.

Oh how I wish I had seen this prior to buying that toy my son HAD to have! Like Valerie I have e-mailed at east 4 times through the website, called at least half a dozen times (the voice mailbox is full today). Tony called me on 8 December 08 promising me that my items would be shipped that day and my confirmation e-mail would be in my mail box and all would be right. It is not right as I have been waiting for over a month to get my items. Should a representative from TOYGLOBE.Com look at the complaint list today and see my comments here is my name and order number:

Hi, I just wanted to say that I placed and order 3 weeks ago for almost $100. It was for a few Hulk figures that I couldn't find at all. Toyglobe responded to all 3 of my inquries immediately and they were very professional. I got my order in perfect condition and in the promised time frame. My experience with Toyglobe has been a pleasure and I hope to buy more from them in the future. Thank you Toyglobe and Merry Christmas! Highly Recommended!

I too have had problems with Toy Globe, firstly it makes me laugh that their warehouse is in Quebec & I get charged international shipping & I live in Ontario & yes my last item was mailed from Quebec. That order was a small figurine for my son, it took over a month, several snotty emails & phone calls before it turned up. That was October 2007. Silly me bought a couple of items from online websites for my sons birthday, Toy Globe & Toywiz. This December I ordered a Curious George toy for my daughter for Christmas, I could not remember which one was the one that was slow to ship & had very bad customer service. In both cases I did receive confirmation of order & confirmation of complaint from them, obviously just an auto response. Although when I did eventually get through to them in 2007 & spoke to someone I did get my order within days after that, they fed me some ### & ball story that it was out of stock at the time of order. All I can say is that the only repeat business they get are from woman who were pregnant & only functioning on limited braincells & whose memory as to where she ordered the first shipment from was less then clear. My advice is to never ever buy from them, if you want to throw your money away then throw it my way!

Thank god i read this message before i bought anything. Anyway i know plenty of websites that sell the same toys for a cheaper price, i mean $43 for a StarWars shocktrooper from a 2004 line of figures? Every store I know (I'm a collector and I know alot of sites and stores) sells them for 7.00$-12.00$ and they ship them to you and you receive unlike I have read in these comments.

"All shipments are insured and trackable."

That's a lie. Jun 16? Almost 3 months?

Let me tell you: I'm buying things about all arround the wolrd. Even from China, the thinks NEVER takes longer than 2 months.

This is my 4th e-mail. No tracking code. What this mean? I've been stolen!

So, lets do this. You could at least send the tracking code (so I'll kknow that the product exists), or you admit that the product have not been sent yet, and GIVE BACK MY MONEY!

Just to let you know: I have 4 free hours a day. If I have not a answer until today, I'll begin a crusade on all foruns and complains, and blogs about toys all over the internet, in 5 languages I know. No, its not a great work, Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V is very fast for a message with this truth.

And more. I have family and friends in USA and Canada, and they will look forward your company.

Thanks

I bought some action figures for my son from ToyGlobe.com and have yet to receive them. I placed the order in on the 7th of September 2009 and it is still not here. I was charged right away and was sent an email stating that I would receive my order in ten working days. So I thought. Okay that's fine. But then I waited and waited. Then finally after a week past the due date, I wrote them an e-mail. I never got a response back from them. I finally called and got there voice mail. The next day I got a letter from them stating that one of the items was on back order and I would receive it in seven days. First thing that alerted me to the possibility that this was a scam was that every item that I bought was in stock and still is. The other problem that I have is that you can never get a hold of a real person. It is now the 15th of October and still nothing. I have decided to give them one more week before I call my bank to get my money back. Even if by some miracle I get my package for my son I would rather burn my money then to ever use this company again. I hope that whoever reads this has not yet done what I did and just buy from a company you knew nothing about.

Toyglobe is most definitely the sleaziest business I have ever dealt with. Nearly a month has passed and the item I purchased has not arrived, and none of the nearly one dozen phone calls I placed have been returned. Nor have the several emails. This is either a company which makes a living bilking consumers, or it is the worst managed company in the history of commerce. I lean toward the former.

Here's just another of these complaints. But this time, I'll put Toyglobe.com to the test:

My name is John. Last name isn't important. I placed an order for a McFarlane Halo 3 Grifball Recon figure (ComiCon exclusive, mind you) and the website stated it was "in stock." I waited for quiet some time to get it, and found it it was really on backorder. I know, sounds so much like everyone else who's posted here.

Here's the problem: I canceled the order and never got my refund. Hey man, $70 is $70. Sadly, I no longer have the order info (sad for me.) So, Toyglobe.com, below is my REAL telephone number. Since I can't get an answer on your cell phone when I call you, why don't you give me a ring and let's settle this.

Why can't something be done about this RIP-OFF company. I too have lost in excess of $130.00. Most of all my daughter is so upset.

I have sent email after email and no response.

I have started action against retrieving my money - I really for her sake just want my items.

Please anyone thinking of purchasing from Toy Globe - they'll take your money and that's it.

Stay away from these guys.

I placed an order over a month ago. Nothing except a bill against my VISA to show for it. I have been emailing daily. No response. Phone number is a dud. I urge all who have been screwed by these people to contact Toyglobes suppliers and complain, basicaly we are paying for products made by these suppliers. Toyglobe is robbing them too, because they are using their products to defraud their potential customers. The suppliers will never see a dime from these fraudelent "sales". I cant imagine the suppliers want their market being screwed with, its just going to cost them money from lost sales. I doubt we can do much as individuals, but if we can get Toyglobes suppliers to cut them off or take action against them we may save a few kids from being ripped off.

I'm also writing to VISA, probably wont mean much, but if enough complaints build up... After all VISA, AMEX etc loose millions each year paying out on insurance because of this kind of thing.

I know I wont get my money back, but I can make my displeasure felt.

Theres also a facebook page for Toyglobe victims. Spread the word.

I placed an order with Toyglobe in NOVEMBER 2008. After being told they were in stock I found out they were back ordered. I fought with this company for 7 months and finally received HALF my order, I have since been ignored by them in regards to the rest of my order. I have gone to the Better Business Bureau and even they couldn't get them to contact me.
This is a very disrespectful company who has no customer service, I have never received a return phone call and all the e-mails I got were from an address I could not reply to.
Please do not waste your time or money going through these people

My mother purchased two Marvel Legends figures from this company for my son on December 10, 2009, the money was taken from her account on December 14 & the items have yet to arrive. She's forwarded me the one response she's gotten from them "The items should have shipped on 12/14" but they won't supply her with a tracking number now they haven't answered any of her other emails. I wish she'd have looked at this before purchasing because coincidence or not, she's had unexplained withdrawals from her account ever since & had to close the account. i keep harping on her not to let these people off the hook, hopefully she doesn't.

I completely agree with all the negative posts. Toyglobe.com is a SCAM! No reputable company operates this way. There are hundreds of complaints about people not receiving what they ordered.

I also ordered a Christmas gift for my son on December 13, 2009; my credit card was promptly charged but 2 months later I have nothing to show for it. It's sad that the complaints on this site date back to 2007 -- here we are years later and ToyGlobe continues to operate with shady business practices. This site needs to be shutdown. I've filed a complaint with the BBB and will voice my disgust on every complaint site and message board. Eventually the message will get out there and people will stop buying from this company. Sounds like one smuck is running this site and blaming the customer for all of his problems.

Hey Tony and John -- why don't you respond to order # 287614 since you feel you are such reputable.

DO NOT SHOP AT TOYGLOBE.COM (and I'm glad there are people that check out a company before purchasing from them)!

I can't believe that on the responses Totyglobe leaves on this page they actually have the nerve to trash talk their customers! Things like "For a person how worked in customer service he sure didn’t sound like it." and "So if Johnny (no last name) or Mike (no last name) have any disputes with us ( if they are REAL CUSTOMERS)" are the most unprofessional words I have ever heard a company use in public. This makes me truly doubt their legitimacy.

Does anybody know how I can phone them from South Africa please as I also need to try and beg my order out of them?

Ontime,

Be smart and call your financial institution. Report the charge to your account (credit card or bank account) as a fraud IMMEDIATELY. Be honest with them and say you didn't know the company you bought from was running a scam.

From what I hear, as long as people who order from Toyglobe are proactive in reporting the charges as fraud, it will help certain investigations to be started against them.

They think they're safe because they're in Canada, but they couldn't be more wrong.

I don't even know where to start with this company. I have been buying comic collectibles on the internet for 10 years and for all the talk I heard about various scams I previously never ran into one. You don't even need to read my review, go check out the hundreds others just like it complaining about the conduct of this "company". I use the term company loosely as it paints the picture of an entity that wishes to sell a product at a set price to a consumer in exchange for money. The latter half of this process they have no problem with, your money will be taken immediately, weather or not the product is in stock. The price you are charged will be somewhat of a loose floating figure dependent it seems on how the person robbing you of your money is feeling that day. I ordered a set of Hulk action figures. I was told I would be sent a tracking number and I would be charged only for the items that were in stock. I was charged the full price 4 days after my order and told I would receive the figures at most 15 business days after that. Now first off, I am a resident of Canada, and the company operates in Canada, but I am charged in US funds and charged as an international shipper. Ok, some companies deal only in US funds, I can deal with that. So a month goes by with no tracking number, no emails to explain the lateness and no figures. I do what I should have done before placing the order, and do a search of Toyglobe reviews. Like everyone else here I was panicked after about 15 seconds of doing so. I started to leave messages with them. I filled out the order form on the website indicating I had still received no tracking number or items and was growing concerned and after 48 hours, which is the amount of time they promise to return your message within, I had heard nothing. I called the phone number on the web page for about 3 hours, each time I got a message indicating the mail box was full, I finally did get through, to a machine and took full advantage leaving several messages stating my intention to contact authorities as I now believed myself to be a victim of fraud. After about 8 hours and some pretty damning messages I got an email response saying simply sorry for the lateness, one of my items was back ordered, and that I would be receiving them within 7 days. So they lied about their policy of charging only for items that were in stock and going to be shipped and that is assuming they actual ship the items after his debacle. I responded that they could keep the toys, my credit card was canceled, and that I would be requesting a charge back with my bank to get my cash back. I urge anyone who has an order with them to cancel it, cancel your credit card (many complaints directed towards them indicate people were often the victims of credit card fraud after their dealings with toyglobe at the hands of overseas criminals) and get your money back. Even if they were going to actually send my figures I have no wish to do business with a company who conducts themselves so poorly. I have in fact read many accounts of people who simply do not pursue action afterward and these people are the ones they make money off of and have been doing so since 2002 it seems.

I have one name only that I've been able to find synonymous with toyglobe,
Jenny Georgiopoulos-Vourliotis

Google it. See her online resume indicating she worked for them. It also indicates she owns a company it appears she does not, Eventualities Event Planning, so I don't believe for sure that she no longer works for this company toyglobe as her resume states. In fact you will find a toyglobe.com blog that she is still linked as a contributor for. You will find a phone number for Toyglobe that is not the main one on the web page. This phone number is linked to several other company names, including one that is run by her husband, a trucking company. Though the phone number is listed to 3 different companies with links to her the person who actually owns the phone number is someone with a different name who says they work for proctor and gamble on their answering machine. There is something very illegal going on here which I hope to uncover, anyone else who wishes to share information please contact me.
