I had same SMS and i read here many people recevied same SMS that mean this is scam becouse can't give any company thise reward, they tell you that you won and next they tell you that you have to pay taxes on the money you've won before they send you the money. its a scam, if you send them the taxes you dont see any money at all but they have your money, they also tell you that they will send the money to your bank account. thats the way they get your bank info.

Complaint Rating:

I received similar details of winning 600,000 pounds on UK MOBILE PROMO. I think its a scam for several reasons;

1. So many of us have received this sms in so huge amounts, therefore either the company will go broke or they are so rich that they should be put in the Fortune 500 companies list.
2. The company does not even have their own website!
3. The company has not indicated in any of their media, TV, NEWSPAPER, RADIO, INTERNET that they would engage in a lottery draw. (Something this extreme in amounts of cash for advertising should definately hit the media)
4. We did not participate in a lottery, so picking up random numbers and names is almost ridiculous because first of all, how is this a form of advertising. And wouldn't the company be better off expending these large amounts of money on other forms of marketing and adverts?
5. If this is all real, why has none of us received our money yet and better yet, why are there so many complains?

This is most probably some kind of spam becos lots of people are complaining and lots haven't confirmed receiving the money.

I also received a message saying that i won this money and that i have to send my name and address which i did to this company to Mr. John Wright and when i called to ask what is this about, an african guy with a bad english answered and told me that the money will be sent to me through a bank in netherland and of course he will need my account number, and when i didn't wanted to give it to him he called me stupid and hang up the phone, so at the end of the month i am going to london to the police to give them all the details. If you guys have anymore contact phone numbers that they gave you to call them please send them to me so i can give all details to the police and yes it is a big SCAM!

Dear friends, I have too been a victim of the same thing. I received this message saying that he told me to make the payment through western union. and when I made the payment he gave me another number and told me to transfer my identification details along with one winning certificate (which he sent me) to the bank and they will contact me for further details.

After I sent all these details a bank named (DEUTSCHE E-COMMERCE BANK) contacted me and gave me some account login code and password along with their website (debonline.net/en) and said me that I can go and transfer the money now in my account anywhere in the world. But wen I was transferring the money the website was asking me for some 'MARGINAL FLUCTUATION CODE' and then again the bank guy named (Kupperman josephs) told me that I have to send them an amount of 6500/- euro to achieve this code. And it was then wen I started all the investigation and found out that this is all fake because i checked each and everything.

The website of this bank was a fake one registered under a private domain, the bank was nowhere. The address of the bank given is invalid. There is nothing as UK mobile promo.

Guys they tell u to transfer all the money thru western union or money gram because these are the two money transfer organizations which transfer the money without any company identification details, all the receiver has to do is to show his identification card and name along with the code number and take the money off...

Just think if this would be true then you couldn't they give you their bank details to transfer the money directly to their bank account!

My friends I am wasting all this time of mine here just to aware all of you to no to fall in any of such fake and forgery stuff.

My friend got this txt saying she'd won 900,000 pounds for the UK mobile thing and to email wriightjn@yahoo.co.uk - i think it was stupid and I believe it is a hoax because...
1. why would this company 'global max' (or whatever it is) be giving away millions of dollars for no reason?
2. if this 'global max' is so rich then why dont they have a website?
3. also why is this john wright character not important enough to have a 'company' email address when he's in charge of giving away millions of dollars? eg a ...@globalmax.com address - instead he has a @yahoo.co.uk email address which ANYONE can setup and send emails off?

ANYWAY there are heaps of little theories you can think up but i think the most conclusive one is that Why are there 2 pages worth of complaints/questions about this? if it were real - then why are so many people complaining? I'd be pretty happy if i just won 900,000 pounds

ALSO - in a non-racist way - I've noticed that nearly ALL of these complaints have been laid by people with Arab(?) looking names? why is that? I'm just curious

Hi, I notice that everyone here has received a strange sms from this number : [protected], I've also received this sms four or five times, but I don't understand why and how it is possible since I'm French, I live in Paris, I don't even know UK Mobile Promo and among my friends no one receives these messages. in your case, you can read that you won 600 000 pounds or something like that, as far as I'm concerned I can't read anything except " $SmsMess " . It's obvious that what these messages say is not true, so beware.

The above comments are all true. This is purely fake and ridiculous. I myself become a victim of it. Normally these cases run for 3 to 4 months without any results. These all are stupid and ###s.
