My husband purchased a vehicle from this company first with the guarantee that his interest would be 14.5% which was a lie after all was said UAA closed it with 25%. This company harasses you after one day of your payment being due there staff is so unprofessional, when you call this office you can never get anyone that talks with sense or have any knowledge of what they are doing. We pay our bills thru our bank and the manager of UAA told us that banks never send your payment on time...come on people with a company like this you never know when they receive your payment because they will not give you a print out. Last year they changed their computer systems/upgrade them and everyone started getting phone calls about late charges, when asked how this was calculated the staff would say the old system did not log any late charges. COME ON! What company of this type would have a computer system that did not record late payments. So now they tell my husband that we owe them 280.00 in late fees we have only had the car for 1.5 years. Threatening with repo if we don't pay...
Now the BIG ISSUE we were thinking of trading our vehicle and we had a dealer call for the payoff and one of there ghetto employees answer the phone, would not give her name even when we asked and WOULD NOT I REPEAT WOULD NOT give this man a payoff. Then she hung the phone up on him twice. What type of owner up hold this type of behavior at there company. We then called the company and the young lady that answered hung up on us, she said I have the file in front of me but I can't give you the payoff. This is a customer right to get a payoff if asked and to this day we still are fighting with this company. I could go on but I think after reading other complaints everyone knows that UAA is not the company that you would want to do business with.
We went to Pars Cars on false advertisement of people with bad credit can purchase a car and get 14.99, interest rate. They give you 14.99 alright after they jack up the price of the car at least 10 to 15 thousand dollars and payments on a four year old car financed for five years.
I Purchased 2005 Chevy Tahoe on 03/6/09, when we got to the dealership we were told we could not test drive a vehicle until we were credit approved. That was our WARNING to get out of there and we did not take it. We decided to just leave when another sales person came out and asked if he can help. We test drove 3 vehicles and was taken into the dealership for paper work.
we should have left when it took 3 hours of waiting, by this time we were told we need to put money down for the deal to go smooth...this was just so they would have our money and we would not just leave without nothing..After we gave them the deposit of 2500.00 for the vehicle, things got even slower. We were there all day...well over eight hours. They then said the deal was done they just need a thousand dollars more for the deposit...I was deceived into giving them 3500.00 deposit for a used 4 year old vehicle. ALWAYS ASK FOR THE BOTTOM LINE OR THE TOTAL PRICE OF THE PURCHASE…I did not, after being told that I was approved for 13, 900.00 in the parking Iot, I did not think to ask what the total price of the suv would be when we sat down with the paper work…little did I know the price had changed and they added several thousands of dollars to the total price.
Once they so called approved us it still took several more hours. They told us that they were going to take off the rims and this was standard for all the vehicles.
Once we got the suv and took it home..we founded out the tires they put on the suv don't fit...they put the wrong size tires on the suv. We then had to call constantly to get someone to fix this problem. After calling and talking to several people and long hours holding on the phone for about 2 weeks, we finally got some sort of help on this. But to top it off we were not told we had to bring all payments to them in southlake each time we make a payment...
This was hardly over when we founded out that the suv we purchased was under water for some time. The passenger side door will not open from the inside. There was a slight odor, and we never thought anything of this, now the smell has gotten a lot worse almost unbearable. We had to replace all bearings on the front and back wheels of the suv...they rusted out from standing in water for a long period of time. This cost us about 1500.00 just for these repairs on a suv we purchased less than 3 weeks ago.
SAVE YOURSELF A LOT OF HEADACHES AND STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM PARS CARS…THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!….THIS MIGHT EVEN SAVE YOUR LIFE OR SOMEONE YOU LOVE…They sell nothing but LEMONS and in some cases death traps. How can a company that have such a ripoff tactic still be in business. People we need to stick together as consumers and do everything in our power to put such companies out of operation… PLEASE, PLEASE REPORT PARS CARS TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AND CONSUMER AFFAIRS.
Last year around March 2011, I purchased a Benz from the dealership associated with this company. The salesman lied about the carfax report showing me a bogus history stating that the vehicle was never involved in an accident. Since I have purchased that Benz, it has been in and out of the shop. Finally, I decided to TRY and trade it at a Ford dealership a month ago, August 2012, only to discover that the Benz was indeed involved in an accident. I contacted UAA to discuss this and was told to contact the dealership, Pars Cars. I spoke with the Director (General Manager) and of course he gave me Serious attitude. I called UAA back to let them know what had happened and the Finance Manager told me to go to the dealership and ask for a trade. I went to the dealership and can you believe that I got the run around from PARS and UAA as both of these entities would not take their own vehicle back for a trade. Both Pars Cars and United Auto Acceptance are owned by the same people (Board of Directors) with just a different tax ID number. The finance company's general manager informed me of this. What kind of Bogus rip-off company is this? I'm so glad that God, through Jesus Christ will judge all and I believe that This Atlanta Giant of a rip-off should indeed be sued. I have contacted the Attorney General for investigation.
My husband and I bought a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe in 2015. Our story mirrors everyone elses, we originally wanted a 2013 Dodge Caravan that was on the lot. On the day we came to sign the paperwork and give Pars the deposit, the minivan was MIA, and they insisted on showing us other cars. We settled for the Santa Fe, which has been a nightmare. We paid off 92% of the loan, got within our last 5 payments, and then woke up to my phone ringing yesterday morning. The man claimed there were warrants out for my husband’s and my arrest and that we needed to surrender the vehicle to him or we would be arrested. He then gave me the phone number of UAA’s “owner” John Byron. My husband called in a panic, told him we would be making our payment today but we just woke up. He assured us it was a clerical error and according to Georgia law, once the arrest warrants are filed, they have to take possession to cancel the warrants. We complied, not knowing any better. He then went on talking to my husband for an hour about my cancer diagnosis and how sorry he was for placing us in this situation. He asked if he could add me to his prayer list at his church, Rock Springs Church in Milner, GA. We spent $60 on a Lyft to get to Jonesboro from Duluth, only to find out that everything we had been told by Mr Byron was a lie. He doesn’t work for or with UAA, he works with the tow company. And in order to get the car back, the car I have been paying off for 4 years, over $12, 000, and 92% of my loan, they wanted me to pay off the remainder of the loan, plus the tow bill, which totaled $2, 650. I didn’t have it. I’m barely working right now because of cancer, so I had to tell the manager that if I give anyone anything over the amount of my car payment, it’s going to be a down payment on a new car. And that’s how I left. I’m in contact with a lawyer, and I know they violated at least 2 Georgia laws. I’m sure by Monday the lawyer will find more. Shady business, same with Pars Cars, that’s why the dealership in Duluth closed. Shady [censored] people.
