Hello Ria / Safia

I found United Motors UK Ltd on here because I was wondering if anyone has had an experience like I have just had with them, something I've never encountered before at a car dealership or any other business for that matter.

I saw their cars on Autotrader and decided to have a look to see what cars they had - alarm bells rang when I arrived:

1. There were nowhere near the amount of cars they had on Autotrader (but I suppose they could have had another car lot), and they all looked like they'd seem much better days.
2. When I went in, I was asked by one of the 3 young men if I was looking for anything in particular...and again by the second man...and again by the third man...and then again by the first man - all within 5 minutes! I said that they had asked me 4 times and each time I said I was 'just looking'.
3. They started to laugh at me and continued to laugh as I walked straight out of the showroom, calling across to me 'not to get upset'. As I was getting on my motorbike one of the men came over to me and started asking what car I wanted, I said I wasn't interested and pulled away while he was still talking (rude of me I know, but I think he deserved it).
4. Another point. I didn't want to mention this because it shouldn't really matter, but all three looked like they'd be more at home standing on a street corner in the shadows waiting for someone to mug.

I was very disappointed with my visit to United Motors UK Ltd and will not be going back.

I bought the car from them few weeks ago and although it says on their website that they offer "FREE 7 DAYS DRIVEAWAY INSURANCE" they wanted to charge me for that. After I paid for the car and asked for "FREE 7 DAYS DRIVEAWAY INSURANCE", They said that I have to pay £25. They tried to persuade me that they are charged for this service by insurance company and therefore I have to pay too. I didn't give up and finally they gave me the leaflet of one of the insurance company with contact details and a reference number to claim free insurance. I spent another several minutes on the phone providing my details for quotation and finally was told by guy from call center that my dealer should just receive copy of the insurance to his email. Unfortunately it could be sent only to dealer's email. When I mentioned about that to the dealer and asked him to print the copy for me, he claimed that non of 2 printers he had in the office didn't work and currently he hadn't have access to his email account. All this time when I spoke to him he even didn't bother to move his eyes from the computer screen. I sorted out that in different way but I am very disappointed by UNITED MOTORS LTD. unfair and not professional practices.
Please be careful with those guys as they try to cheat and get extra money. I will not buy from them again and will not recommend to any friends.

They are cheaters, All their cars are bad and faulty. Clocking miles on cars and claiming all their cars are owned by pensioners. My car cost me £1500 to fix after buying it from them and they refused to answer my calls when i mentioned the problem. Bunch of young crooks. Don't buy from them

I called up to check some details about the car I saw on autotrader website. The guy was very rude and had no patience. He told me to see the advert as all details are there or if I needed anything further I had to come down personally and hung up. The advert seemed dodgy as the DVLA check of reg plate on the photo does not match with the car they have described. Won’t recommend them to anyone

I went to united motors ltd this week may 2012 as I came across them in autotrader having advertised a vehicle which was appealing to me.. Having read the decription and seen te photos i called them to arrange an appointment for viewing and travelled 172 miles to view the car... Once I got there they all were very unprofessional and on top damn right rude, never the less I came a long distance to looked at the car.. I was tottally opposite to what they described! Infact being low mileage the amount of front chip stones were of a car double the mileage! And the description and features didn't match at all.. Even the photos on advertisement were of a completely top of the range different car which they didn't even own... Beware they are complete timewaisters and have been reported to trading standard and other relevant departments!

I was reading peoples reviews above and was double minded to go to united motors or not. I eventually went as seeing a car does not cost anything. I saw that they had a quite a few cars on their forecourt not only that they had loads of customers looking at cars. As i was browsing i saw a customer had just made a deal within minutes of walking in and just decided to buy a car. So easily bought i could not believe it. Then i spoke to the customer and he told me that he got a bargain compared to the other cars on the market. So then i tried my luck and made an offer on a car i liked and the salesman done me a deal. After all i did get a good deal and i did see other happy customers on the forecourt so i would definately recommend united motors to anyone as everyone does not have a bad experience. Thanks united motors keep it up

HI Guys, I have been through your comments and feedback. I must say that I was very tempted to go to their dealership and shop around for cars but your comments have certainly prevented from doing so.
I wonder why none of you have reported this to the appropriate authorities e.g Trading Standards Agency etc. By the looks of it it seems that all of you have had a very unpleasant experience and being consumers, you do have rights.
I bought a car from a KIA main dealer recently and it developed a major fault just as the warranty expired but I followed the complaints procedure; wrote half a dozen letters and ultimately got all my money back. It takes time and effort but it works.
If United Motors are such a bad show then they ought to be taken to task.
As an advice, whenever you deal with anyone, just make note of date time, person spoken to and keep records of all invoices etc. Importantly, put down everything in writing. You will get justice...

Regards
AK

Hi United Motors..
Iam so glad i rung these bunch of cowboys first!
well i rung up to see if they still had the car that i was looking at on autotrader.
They way he answerd wasnt right i said "hello anyone there" he said "yes yes" i said it very hard to hear you?
I think now thats because of the way he answerd with no manners at all, i said again "hello" because he didnt even engage with me at all, about a car that they might be selling! then he start to have a conversation with someone in the back ground, so i said again "hello is this united motors" he said "yes yes" while still having a conversation in back ground, i said " iam sorry but this isnt very professional converstaion with some whos looking to buy a car" well after that he said "iam i calling to buy a car or not"?
I said that they dont seem very pro at all, so i dont think i will? he said " stop wasting hes time then" LOL... iam meant to be a customer a customer only on the end of a phone aswell!
Well there is no way now iam going to look at any car that is with this company iam just glad i called first i would try find someone else! Good luck if you do buy from there cowboys#!

Hi I also faced the same problem as Ria. I was told to collect the car last Sunday but still it is not ready(Tuesday). Because we didn't get the time to collect it on Sunday he is just making an excuse that because i didn't went on Sunday i have missed the appointment and now he is so busy so he will give me a call when i can collect the car. They all are very dodgy guy and if you decide to buy, just make sure that you take everything in writing whatever they says. Also, they have got a tech of putting nice cars on Auto trader but when you go there to look that particular car in most of the cases they will say the car has just been sold but i can show you another car. BEWARE GUYS JUST DONT BUY FROM THEM. I AM GOING THE MAKE A BIG COMPLAINT ABOUT THEM TO TRADING STANDARDS. THEY PRETEND THAT THEY ARE VERY BUSY BUT INFACT THEY ARE NOT.

I just saw their adverts on autotrader for about 6 toyota yaris all claiming to be owned by pensioners, and the photos of the cars were from magazines and all number plates were hidden etc in the photos on autotrader website.I thought it sounded very strange and dodgy so i decided to check on the internet for some reviews and luckly came up with this page. They also seem to run under the trade name unique motors.Thank you very much for all your comments I will definatly not be going to them after reading the reviews on here. Please who ever has had a bad experience with them should report them to the trading standared agency.

I had very very bad experience with them. I bought nisan car and pray that everything will be ok. They are very very unprofessional. They took £500 straightaway and where saying that you can take the refund. They alter the receipt once I signed In . I couldn't notice that time . When I reached home I saw the receipt again, they put non-refundable on the top of that. They took 11 days to get the car ready. I called them many times but they responded in a very unprofessional ways. When I went there to collect the car, the car was not 100% ready. I asked to fix problems which I saw that time. During the deal they said they have service history but they didn't have. Even they didn't have the car manual document of the car. They didn't left any option for me than to take the car :( . I took the car, refuel it and while coming home I realized that the air pressure in the tyres are not right. When I check the air pressure it was 13 pt in left hand front tyre.Oh my God, I never had that kind of experience in my life. I am very disappointed from this deal . I should have read the reviews before going to them :( . I just pray car will be ok.
Some serious action must be taken against them. They are cheaters.
Please please don't go to them.

Hi, i bought a car last week, was forced to buy, two of the boys escorted me to their office upstairs and one of them then literally took the money from my pocket, i bought the car for £3500, but they took £4000 from and said it was £3500 that they had counted. What is more, i made a complaint and was told that we would 'pop' the windows, also they threw the spare key out into Lady Margaret Road, narrowly being crushed by a passing car. Lastly, the police don't do nothing when i called them, nobody including the Trading Standards are bothered, you are on your own as these organisations are useless, PLEASE do not buy.

I wish I read reviews from other previous buyers. I recently bought a used car from from this independent car dealer that was advertised on Autotrader. The salesmen are very nice before you buy their cars, once you have parted with your money, the atmosphere changes. When I asked for a test drive the 2 salesmen demanded £200 upfront as a deposit.

Don't be fooled by their 'one year parts/ labour warranty', through VGS. The salesmen do not send the documents to VGS for validation, resulting in a pointless warranty. The car I bought had fake service stamps from a mobile service provider. After driving the car for 30 miles, the engine management light came on. Diagnostic results indicated engine problems costing £750. When I called United Motors several times to speak to the salesman, I was told different excuses that he was out of the office. The people I spoke to did not want to hear of my problems, just after a few days of buying the car. They asked me to deal with VGS regarding any car's problems.

It is a shame that consumers are not protected from scrupulous dealers like these. I have no idea why they are allowed to operate and why Auto trader advertises for such companies. Now you know about these sort of dealers, you'll be better off spending a little more of your money by buying your next car from established dealers where you can buy a genuine used car and return it if it develops a problem within an agreed timeframe.

Just seen these fools Ray and Yusuf on BBC 1 watchdog. What a joke is all I can say, and people should be more aware before parting with their hard earned money. Make complaints to relevant bodies such as trading standards something will be done if they get huge amounts of complaints. Get Dominic Littlewood (from cowboy builders & don't get done get Dom) on the case he will sort the out!

I looked around United Motors in April 2013 (Thank god I didn't buy from them!) One of the salesmen asked me what car I was after, I said a Vauxhall Corsa, he said I have one of those at our other showroom in Hanwell. I did go there and look at it but decided against buying anything that day, please be aware that these crooks are operating from 202 Uxbridge Rd, Hanwell, Middlesex !

I went to this dealer earlier in the year. Shockingly bad service. The sales guys were up in the little room shown in watchdog, pressure selling me and attempting to force me to put down a deposit on a damaged car (also stating it came with a warranty and whatever other obvious nonsense they could spout) It was hard to hold a sensible conversation with them- they all had extremely amateur customer service skills, and all very cocky. They seemed very shady to me. Thankfully i didn't purchase from them. I had to say "no" numerous times for them to stop.

I think they actually believed their customers were idiots based on the prices they seemed to be selling the clearly aged vehicles.

I'm very happy watchdog did a piece on them. I just wish there were more strict controls on traders like them. They will set up elsewhere and no doubt do the same again.
