5/2022 Bought a 2012 Kia Soul from US Auto sales in Charlotte NC, I think listing price was $17,000 (way too much for the car, but I needed one) Paid extra (2400) for 2yr service contract with DOWC that was never sent to them (DOWC) and GAP Waiver (800).
Car was ok for about 9 months then steering wheel started making noise when I turn, told it was a knock sensor from Auto Zone. Did not have the money to fix it then and actually forgot I had the service contract. Then in July of 2023 the car made a loud pop and left me stranded. Not sure if it was the engine or not but when I tried to call the dealership, I was told the went out of business and was to contact Westlake Portfolio Management. Did that and they said my loan was transferred but the service contract is discontinued when they bought the loan. And the service contract company is DOWC and they are suing US Auto sales too. So know they won't honor my service contract and won't return my email and I'm stuck with a car that doesn't run and they want me to pay.
Desired outcome: Reimbursed for all payments, including the Service contract and GAP funds
