They sent me a letter saying that it was my last chance for an extended warranty for my vehicle, so I had my boyfriend call and see if it was a good deal. The guy on the phone gave him a quote of 2, 400.00 for a pretty good warranty. About two weeks ago, my a/c went out, so I took it in the other day to get it fixed. They told the mechanic that the problem with my vehicle wasn't covered. I went back and looked at the contract, and it said that it was. I called today and they told me that the original contract wasn't for the state of Florida, so it was changed. I didn't get a phone call from them or anything in the mail saying that my contract had changed. So I fought with them over the phone and he told me there was nothing that they could do for me. I've been told that they used to go by a different name, and that they have quite a few claims against them, for the same thing. They get you to buy what you think is a good thing, then they change it to something totally different. Its a rip off!

I am so glad that I found this site because my husband and I were about to purchase the extended warranty with this company but figured it had to be too good to be true! I think it is so sad that this company is ripping people off! We thank all of you for posting your comments because these comments solidified our thoughts and kept us from making a huge mistake.

The commercial on their website with Rusty and Steve Wallace says they have free towing coverage. I got my contract in the mail and guess what? I have TOWING REIMBURSEMENT up to $75 and that is only if the warranty company decides the repair is covered.

I have had this extended warranty for about 6 months now you have to wait a grace period of almost 3 months before your car is able to be service. Then around the time that my car was covered my car broke down and they have given me a complete run around with getting my car fixed! This company is extremely unprofessional and I would suggest you look else where this is a waste of money down the drain!

Wow! I am soooooooooooooo glad that I saw this! I had just talked with another extended warranty company called "U.S. Warranty" and they gave me the hard-sell attitude with the "you MUST take advantage of these low prices TODAY!", and they also told me that the cut-off for my car was "just under" what it was too, so they had me talk to a "qualifier" and then they said they'd do me a favor and qualify me anyway, because my husband is military, and it went on and on and on, especially when I kept letting them know that all I wanted today was JUST a quote! It almost sounds as if US Fidelis and US Warranty are one and the same company. Hmmmm...
Thanks so much for everyone who took the time to post their info! You have saved my husband and I a LOT of grief!

This is to barefootchick: The majority of these extended warranty companies for vehicles are in the St. Louis area. In the time that I worked at US Fidelis --a little over a year and a half--several people broke away to start their own companies. It is such a profitable business; get rich quick. Their business practices are highly unethical, and sometimes illegal. They all have the same sales pitch; I know as I have called some others out of curiosity. Glad you were saved the grief. SPREAD THE WORD!

Looks like a scam. But what did the lady mean by this statement "The guy on the phone gave him a quote of 2, 400.00 for a pretty good warranty". Is this upfront, total of payments in a period of time? My guess is the amount of repairs they would cover. Be more clear, please. What about the ads seen lately, choose your own repair shop? This just couldn't work, the opportunity to fraud them would be unbelievable. The only believable part is they will not part with the money if you need it. Aren't the top people just a little afraid of the possible jail and fines at the end of this? Get enough common good people angry and a public execution (legal) of some sort is very likely.

Today I received my warranty information. Along with the envelope were two bottles of auto additive. One for transmission and the other for oil/engine, After reading the information I was shocked to read unless I sent the card back verifying I put this gunk in my car, I couldn't use the warranty. THIS WAS NOT DISCLOSED TO ME. I was skeptical when I first bought the warranty over the phone. The salesperson didn't emphasis the part about the probation. I had to drive the car 1500 mile and wait 60 days before the car warranty would take effect. When I asked what happened if I didn't drive the car 1500 miles in 6 months? It doesn't matter, I still had to pay the monthly fee and regard less if I drove 800 miles they wouldn't pay for it. Oh, by the way, they gave me a military discount of $300 when I told them I was retired from the Navy.
So today at 5:44 I called cust serv and spoke to Robin, she tried to convince me I needed the additive and when I told her I didn't want to get into a long drawn out back and forth discussion, she became terse. I told her I just wanted my money back. She attempted to tell me that they looked at my account and was going to offer me a lower price, I shut her down and said I knew you were going to say that. Just give me my money back. She left the line for about a minute and came back saying I would get a refund in 3-5 days.
Just wondering what to do about this additive I got, she didn't say anything about sending it back. Be careful, they are worse than a car dealer getting you to buy the warranty. They want you write stuff down and circle a price, all of the car dealer tricks. FAITH BASE, YEAH RIGHT> They pray to the almighty dollar.

i bought some type of warranty package like this one time from a used car dealer on my sons car, , about a week later the engine blew and developed a rod knock while my son was driving it! so we took it to the shop and the shop said they would install a new engine with no problem! so we called the warranty people and let them know that it was broke and in the shop, so they wanted to know what shop it was in so they could send an "investigater" to the shop to look at it! so o.k. no big deal we werent lying about anything so we told him where it was and the guy on the phone said it should be about 1 to 2 days to look at it, , after about a week and tons of calls we finally found out that the "investigater" went and looked at the car which was all yanked apart by now by the shop and was told that it wasnt going to be covered. when asked why not he said that the car had been overheated and thats why it blew! so i said what the hell does that have to do with anything, the engine still blew, then he said if my son would have pulled over immediatly when he heard the engine blow it wouldnt of overheated and screwed it up so bad! everybody knows when an engine blows it usually loses all of its oil and water so of course its going to overheat, anyway it was one really bad experience in my life that i wouldnt want anyone to go through! thinking i had something for peace of mind wasnt peacefull at all! so i ended up paying the shop for tearing it all apart and throwing the parts in the trunk, , i think 200.00 what a friggin night mare! dont buy aftermarket warranties from any company whatsoever! they will not pay!

i was contacted about purchasing a warranty. a woman explained to me i could get a good extended warranty for my vehicle. she told me it was $800.00 down and $197/month for 9 months. when i asked for a number to call her back at, she transfered me to a man who became rude with me. at first he said he could give me a better deal because my mileage is under 80, 000 miles. he said he could give me the same warranty for $400 down and $97/month for 15 months. he asked for my credit card number and i said i dont have one. he asked for my checking account number, which i dont have one of those either. he was really pushy at this point, which i didnt even want the warranty fearing it was a scam. i asked if they would take a money order but he said no, they dont take those. he said when my vehicle breaks down i have to "come up with $1, 000.00 on the spot". i said no, not necessarily and he started screaming in the phone at me saying "good luck...good luck...good luck."

I should of read this before I paid $3, 700.00 to cover my 2003 Dodge Ram. I took it in for a sensor, and it was not cover. Then I found out that a water leak was not covered either. On the transmission, I have to pay to "service" it, then they will find out if it is covered or not. What a rip off. Stay away from them.

I am mystified as to how this company remains in business, but we went to Federal Court with a famous national pest control company that admitted fraud on the witness stand and was found not guilty. Their lawyers used personal attacks on us and threatened our witnesses. I contacted US Fidelis on the Internet after receiving a letter and never got a response. Several days later I heard on the news that it was a scam, but we continue to get letters. Their name was obviously chosen to make people have confidence in them (fidelis is faithful in Latin). An insurance company cannot pay out more than they take in...it is a kind of Ponzi scheme. Look how long it took to arrest Bernie Madoff, who made off with a lot of money from overly trusting people. I just found this website after watchng an ad on TV because I could not believe they are still making the claims that they do make. I thought it was illegal to do business by mail that is not legitimate. Where are the consumer protection people? Thank heaven for the WWW!

Hello everyone, I was just screwed by US Fidelis big time. Ive written down in as much detail as possible how everything went down, & wat Ive found out.

Like many people I saw a commercial on tv Showing Rusty Wallace claiming that if u purchase a service contract from US Fidelis With a $0 deductible ur repairs are $0, upon u purchasing a service contract from them. All u need 2 do is take ur vehicle 2 an ASE certified shop to diagnose ur vehicle, if its a covered component the shop calls The 800# Us fidelis then pays with a credit card. & ur all set. ur then explained that u will receive a package around 7-14 bznz days from the day u purchase the contract. & that u must throw in all those additives 2 ur car so ur car can start being protective. In the Package u received an Engine treatment, A radiator treatment, & AC treatment & ur warranty documentation (u have 30 days to review it)I received the package 20 days later, SO i was left with 10 days to review it. (what they dont tell u is that if u add those additives 2 the car & then call to cancel u cant bcuz, u have used the chemicals. U also cannot use the policy for 2 months/2000 miles, Oh & did I mention That I also got free towing & free car rental.(this was all said to me by the sales associate Preston. Early last week my 95 mitsubishi expo broke down, (tranny) As stated on the policy I took to an ASE certified Transmission Shop, along with maintenance records (U r required to have oil changes every 6000 miles & receipts cannot be hand written) Ur already required to spend more money on oil changes)(some reputable inexpensive shops still hand write receipts). After talking to the shop I told them I had us Fidelis, they said ok they've done this b4 with other service warranties. 1st off I had to sign an invoice to allow the shop to breakdown my tranny the cost was $850, If for any reason Us fidelis refuses to pay the claim I will owe them $850. Well My claim was approved but it was only approved for $775. the cost to repair the transmission is $2277. So i need to come up with $1502, even though I have a $0 deductible. They cannot pay more. After being on hold for over 3 hrs total time & several calls, I was told by my claims rep that They base the $775 off of www.NADA.com, the average value of the vehicle in that website is $775, so thats all they can pay & they will not pay anymore. If I refuse to proceed with the claim I have 2 pay the Tranny shop $850, or come up with $1502 to complete the repair. & by the way there is no free car rental or 24hr towing. U have to pay for the towing or car rental 1st, upon an approved claim & Paid in full, ur then reimbursed for ur expenses & that can take up to 30 days. If I wouldve proceeded with this claim, The policy I have now would b considered useless, Bcuz they've already paid out the max that there allowed. But the policy would still remain in effect. So I was sold a policy at $2375 that can only payout a maximum of $775, no more. Thats it. I feel totally taken advantage of, rippedoff, & Im out $850 (no matter how I have 2 pay this transmission shop) & I still have a useless car. US Fidelis must not be allowed to continue making false claims on TV, & Ripping off consumers the way they have been. There is nothing legit about this company. Everything is a complete scam. PLz advise all consumers. The public must know

Thanks, Carlos

Before I saw these complaints, I called them today to get a quote...they gave me a price of a "premium new vechicle" for my 2005 and said it would be $2900! That is $1000 more then the dealer had offered me! I told them that then he dropped it to $2000 and told me instead of paying $100 deductable, it would be $0 and they would give me free tow service and car rental...I thought wow that is a significant difference and sounds good! Now after I look at the BBB over 1200 complaints, it all did sound to fake! and how could they drop it so much if it was not a scam! Thank God I did not go with them!

June 2009, I spoke to Jeremiah Trout, about becoming a member of US Fidelis. I wasn't sure at first, but we talked at length about factory warranties and that they only covered lubricated parts. Jeremiah assured me that signing on for a Primer package it would cover my car bumper to bumper, the only catch was that I could not use it for 60 days. So I waited making my payments faithly and now it is mid January 2010, my car started acting up, I called US Fidelis and asked if it was okay to use the warranty now, I was told yes, I( could go to any shop of my choosing, just have the maintains person call the claims number and let them know what was wrong in order to secure payment., because Fidelis pays with a corporative credit card. So I took the car to the dealer they did the inspections, and called Fidelis as Fidelis requirement, so the maintains person did what was required and was promptly told all work was declined telling them that it was all normal wear and tear that Fidelis refused to pay for. So I went back and found my paper work that I received from them in the mail, it was filled with thing that was not covered even though it was bumper to bumper warranty. Had I not been miss lead and lied to I would have never signed on with US Fidelis. The only way to can get any thing from them is to go to arbitration with them in Chicago, Ill. So I will try one more time by calling the claims department myself and if that fails I will be seeking a lawyer and filing a law suit against US Fidelis and all known associates (ie MEDCO). For violation of their own contract.

I cannot find or open a usfidelis website ANYWHERE !

Everything leads to a dead end--even the 1-800 number given me by the finance company handling the policys' payments is a dead end. All I could do was stop payments going out...

usfidelis is a scam and is worthless if they will not allow their subscribers to contact them!

Is there a way of recovering the money I wasted on these creeps?

They sell you everything on the phone and honor nothing. They charged me $1750.00 for the warrenty. I had engine trouble and they said I would have to assume the cost to tear down the engine to determine if the problem was covered, $2, 000.00. They said if it was a covered repair they would cover the cost of the tear down. I agreed and it was a cover repair, HOWEVER, they then explained their "limit of liability" was for the blue book value of the car which is 2, 075.00 since it was torn down and not running. SCREW JOB! I think so BIG TIME! Our attorney general said they had an obligation to explain this before I agreed to the tear down so I am pursuing it but I am sure it is only going to cause them some aggrevation and not nearly what they deserve!

US FIDELIS IS A TOTAL RIP OFF!
I had gone to a MAJOR Dealership here in town to make an appointment to take my SUV in to get fixed. (Breaks & front end)
Well I talked with the service lady, and she dropped her head & shook it as soon as I said US FIDELIS. She said; "Honey, they don't pay for anything." That they are back logged with unpaid bills. But I can talk to the service manager and see if what I need done is covered.
I had talked to the service manager and he did the samething. Dropped his head, and said to just STOP paying on US FIDELIS, because they don't pay and then I would be left with the bill. So...I have been tring to call US FIDELIS to cancell the policy and it is a HUGE RUN AROUND! They go through the finance company MEPCO. HUGE RUN AROUND! All I can think of is closing my bank account and not having them withdraw any more money then they already have taken out. PLEASE DON'T BUY INTO THEM! I am thinking of all the money that I have wasted with them thinking I was doing something that was going to save me money on repairs. BIG JOKE...I paid out of my pocket over $2000.00 to get my breaks and front end fixed...let alone all the money paid to US FIDELIS, FOR THE PAST 9 MONTHS.

We have this auto warranty and sold the vehicle it was on and now are trying to get a refund from this company for the two years that is remaining. They stated we would get a refund of $886.00. They now say is belongs to another company who stated that they did not have our money and that US Fidelis still has it and they have to pay the refund.
As of this date after calling many times. We are still getting the run around and it's always six more weeks before we should get it. Do not deal with this company.

I too was just screwed by US FIDELIS! We bought the warranty a year ago and took the truck in yesterday to have tranny rebuilt. The warranty was denied because they said my milage was off...What? After arguing with James and him laughing at me when i wanted to cancel my warranty and get a refund i have found this site. Man i wish i would have found this all out before now. I have contacted my bank and am disputing all charges. I suggest you guys try that also, I may only be able to get 3 charges back but at least right now thats 3 charges those ### won't get.
