I was scheduled to have a telephone jack installed on November 20, 2015 between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. After no one showed, I decided to give them at call at 4:16 p.m. I was told by the representative that the technician was on site. I told them that no one was at the house. They then told me that the tech could be working on the installation but at a different site at the time. No one ever showed. I called around 9:00 a.m. on December 1, 2015 to check the status. The representative told me that the system showed that the technician was on site. I asked them how could the person be on site since yesterday. They put me on hold and told me that they need to find out some more information. I was then told that the technician did not have a masonry drill bit with him on yesterday and could not complete the job. I asked him why would the technician need a masonry bit since my home was wood and had vinyl siding. I was told that I would receive a return call as soon as they found out some more information. After waiting three hours, I decided to call again. I was routed from person to person and never received any result. After doing this for over an hour, I was routed to a senior advisor. In the meantime, my mother called and told me that she just happened to walk outside and found a note on the door saying that they were sorry that they missed us. My mother has been at home all day and has not heard anyone knock on the door or ring the door bell. Furthermore, I was told in the beginning that I would receive a call when the technician was on route to my home. The only calls have been from me to TDS. The senior representative said that my mother probably went to the restroom and that is how the error occurred. Why is she so sure that the technician even tried to see if anyone was home? She then tried to schedule another install for tomorrow. Why would I try to reschedule given the treatment that I have already received. I asked why they couldn't come back out today, given that the office is only 15 miles from my home. I am utterly disappointed. If I could change my phone service, I would in a heartbeat. TDS Telecom has truly done me a disservice.
