Clarks

I was always a huge Clarks fan. They were very comfortable and fit me well. I owned more than 20 pairs. Three years ago I went to my friend's house for Thanksgiving dinner and the soles disintegrated before the pie was served. I was humiliated but we laughed it off and went on with our visit in my stocking feet. When I got home I threw them in the trash and moved on. Two weeks later I was getting ready to go out to a movie with friends when the soles on another pair of Clarks fell apart. I threw those away and went to the movie. When I got home I took the shoes out of the trash and evaluated them further. Because I had so many pairs of Clark's I had no idea how old they were but the soles did not show much wear. The next day I went through my closet, checked the Clarks as well as my other shoes. Only some of the Clarks had this tacky, tar like substance on the soles. Three more pair of Clark's were trashed and I was done with Clarks. After that, I always checked the shoes for that greasy, tar like substance. If it was present, the shoes were trashed. Tonight I found an old box with three pair of shoes in the back of my closet; only the Clarks had disintegrated. I dropped one of the slimy shoes and now the carpet is stained with that tar like substance. There needs to be a warning on the shoes that they fall apart AND stain your carpet.
