My name is yolanda c., I reside in san luis az and I have been a proud and loyal customer of yours for decades. On 1/20/21 (wednesday) at approximately 8p.M. I stopped at your san luis az store to purchase some chips and scratchers, I had half a tank of gas and I decided to fill up my tank. I (as usual) left the pump filling my tank automatically (pump#11) as I headed inside the store. I got my bags of chips and grabbed some crossword puzzles and paid. As I walked outside to my car, I immediately noticed the pump was malfunctioning and did not automatically stop, like it should. There was a lot of gas splashing out of my car, I immediately and carefully stopped it and I noticed it ran to nearly $50dlls. My car is a 4-cyl and with half a tank full, it approximately dropped $30-35dlls of gas on the floor. I immediately ran inside the store to notify the employees and they asked for a piece of paper of me explaining what happened and my name and phone number. Both of the employees were very understanding and explained to me that it would be taken care of, that they would notify their next in kin and that I should return thursday or friday between 4am and 2pm when the store manager is there to provide me with a refund. I am a full time student, a full time employee and a full time single parent; I work hard to be able to support my son and mother, and I do not have money to spare, I live paycheck to paycheck and can not afford to lose those 30-35dlls. As I came into the store to talk to the store manager today 1/22/21 at 7am, I started explaining what happened and he did not even let me finish my statement when he said to me "it is all your fault for leaving the pump unattended", I tried explaining to him that I did not know that I had to be right next to the pump while it filled my tank, but I was tired and wanted to go home, so i, like always left the pump running while I ran inside, trusting that the pump is working properly and stopping when my tank was full. He again interrupted me and said "it is all your fault for living it unattended, it could cause an accident and the best I can do is give you a 10dllr refund", I told him that it is not fair that I have to lose money, that I work hard for and can not afford to lose, because the pump is broken, the pump should have a sign stating that it is not in service and should not be available for use if it is a safety hazard, which it is! But more than that, I am profoundly disappointed and offended that he did not take the time to listen to my concerns and was not even understanding enough to give me my money back! I am not asking for charity, I am asking for my money in return, I need to pay my bills and this is setting me back, yes, 35dlls set me back significantly! I apologize for any inconvenience this might bring to you, really, as I already mentioned, I am a loyal customer, my whole family are loyal circle k customers, and I would hate to have to change that because of an incident like this.
