Extended Stay America - Was charged for my service dog then told I would be refunded but now cant get anyone to call me back and they never issued my refund

My boyfriend and I checked in to extended stay in Temecula.CA on December 9, 2023 when we checked in we informed the front desk that we had a registered service dog. the front desk staff an older lady said there was a $25 a day pet deposit charge, I told her she was a service dog and she said there was still a charge. It's illegal to charge for a service dog. I figured it would be refunded back to me, so I paid $148 CASH for the pet deposit. I never got that deposit back. I contacted the manager Helga she said that it was there mistake we shouldn't have been charged and they would issue the refund back to my boyfriend's card, i told her we paid cash she said they would issue refund back to his card it would take about 7-10 business days. We never got the refund; I called the manager back she said she never talked to me or issued any refund there was no record of us paying a pet deposit. then she backed peddled and said she remembered but there was no refund issued she was being extremely rude and started asking what kind of disability do I have that requires me to have a service dog? Is it physical or emotional? By law she was not allowed to ask me that. I was very mad at this point and asked to speak to their corporate office because I wanted to file a complaint. After filing 3 complaints with the corporate office Nobody has returned any of my calls or addressed this complaint, I was told the district manager and regional managers would call me back within 48 hours never got a call , then they said last week they would escalate this matter still no one has called to address this complaint so they lied to us and stole our money and refuse to give back our $148 for a pet deposit which we shouldn't have been charged for a service dog.

Claimed loss: Was charged a $25 a day pet deposit for a registered service dog totaling $148 paid cash .

Desired outcome: I want my $148 refunded like i was told I shouldn't have been charged in the first place. and a apology.
