Nov. 4 at 3:40 I had an appointment to file for a real id. Everything was in order, all the paperwork, etc. I knew it would take a while to receive my id in the mail, so I wasn't worried about it until my current drivers license expired mid-december and the new one still had not arrived.in the meantime, I had someone ask for my current id, so I pulled out the paper temporary id I had been issued, only to realize (again, mid-december) the winnetka dmv employee had actually given me someone else's temporary id. Upon calling the office, I was told that the employee who had processed me on nov. 4 had failed to clear me on on the vision test in their system, and had also failed to waive the driving test in their system, so the dmv still had my application marked as "pending" — none of which they had bothered to inform me. Now the next appointment time they have available is march; I will have to go in and wait in the dmv standby lines for my temporary id, and hopefully they process the application this time. No apology; my situation was instead treated as a source of humor on the helpline. This employee is a danger to others; they are incompetent and are handling sensitive information on a daily basis.
