Ok, first I will say, I have belonged to 3 Planet Fitness clubs, one in St. George Utah, one in Amarillo, TX and the current one in Grand Junction, CO.
Last week, either Dec. 29th or 30th, I saw a club member carrying a big bag around on the floor. I would not have been alarmed, except I saw him set it down in front of the fly machines, and an old man came around the corner and almost tripped over it. On January 4th, the same member was back on the floor with the big bag. I asked one of the attendants at the desk, if it was policy to allow members to carry large bags around on the floor, as there are plenty of lockers available. This attendant replied no. I told him there was a member on the floor with a large bag. The Next day, the same member had the big bag on the floor, so I told the attendant who was there, that I would like to speak to the manager. The manager after a few minutes came to the front desk, and his name is Clay. I told him about the large bag, and he said that was against policy.
The next day I returned for a workout, and the same member was carrying the same large bag around sitting it in front of machines. I again approached Clay, and told him the same member was there again with the bag, and it could cause a fall or accident. Not only that, but how do we know what that member has in that bag. It is large enough hold handguns, or a shorter bullpup rifle. I mentioned then, to Clay, that if the issue was not dealt with, I would want the Franchisee's contact information. He said he would be glad to give me that information.
Thursday January 7th, same situation, and obviously the member had not been spoken to at all. Friday January 8th, same issue, and I approached Clay this time and asked for the Franchisee's contact info. Clay told me I could go online to the corporate site and file a complaint. I told him, well, I guess that's what I'll have to do, since you are not addressing it. He was in my opinion nonchalant, and rather sarcastic, and said "Hey, it's great to see you are still concerned, and you just go for it, or something to that effect, file a complaint." As I was leaving I said Oh, yeah, right. There was a redheaded person there in the area, about 6'tall, and slightly chubby. I'm not sure if he worked there, as he didn't have a staff T shirt, but he had been wiping down machines. As I was walking out the front door, I hear him say "[censored] Off." Rather than go back in, and end up in a serious confrontation with the red headed Jerk, I decided to come home and file this complaint. Policy needs to be enforced, and it is not happening at the Grand Junction, CO location on North Avenue. Sure, 3 or 4 of the staff members can stand around at the front desk, and occasionally walk around the facility telling people to get their masks up over their noses, but is that the only policy they will enforce?
Desired outcome: I want to know how to cancel my membership? It appears this issue will not be addressed.
