I have never written a complaint or review... but after this experience, I needed to.
I took my 6 year old son to this Littleton, CO (Simms and Ken Caryl), Great Clips today. It was an awful experience. Our stylist's name was ANGEL. She was the opposite of an "angel". She was so rude to my son he almost started crying. She started yelling at him and in the meanest voice, repeatedly said "sit up straight" and "don't move, otherwise I will cut you". I didn't say anything to her during the haircut but tried to focus on my son, who was sitting perfectly still. Afterwards, she scolded me and said I needed to wash my son's hair! I explained that she was rude to my son and asked her to make a note in our file that we do not want her in the future. She said this can't be done (but we have left notes about hair cut and style in the past). I left without leaving a tip...but really shouldn't have any paid for her services. She was SO RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL I was shaking. We will never go back to ANY Great Clips.
More information and update:
I understand why some people would read my post and think my child was misbehaving. NO, he is not a perfect child but he was so scared of this woman, he was definitely not moving in that chair. I have never had an issue with any salon or hairdresser. In fact, I have never made any complaint about anyone. So, this was obviously a big issue for me. In hindsight, I should have walked out…but I am happy I stayed calm for my child and expressed by opinion to the hairdresser.
Angel must have been having a bad day but that is no excuse to be rude to anyone, especially a child. I just noticed I didn’t even mention in my original post the way she pushed my child’s head to the side or sprayed water in his eyes and got mad when he flinched.
I called and spoke to the Great Clips manager, explaining my side and also mentioned the other stylist’s name who witnessed everything. The manager was so friendly and said she would speak with Angel. She also asked if I would like anything else, but I do not want anything. Still not going back to GC but feel better.
This is my last post on this issue. I thought this website was a way to tell people not to visit this salon…but is seems to be a sounding board for people’s opinions. Which is fine but not the website for me.
HWGA: If you actually read my post, you would have read that my son was sitting perfectly still. If he was misbehaving, why would I post a complaint?
Instead of reading my comment, you must be too busy attacking everyone who posts a complaint on this website.
P.S. Is your name Angel? Or it wouldn't surprise me if you were related to her...

The stylist should not have been rude to your child but should have been more professional to politely ask the child to sit still. Scissors, trimmers, and clippers are very sharp and no true stylist want to cut anybody's ear, skins, etc off. If the stylist did not use any tone or inapporpriate language then you need to give her a break. True that it is difficult for any child to sit still. I always try to encourage a child to sit still and that their haircut will be over before they know it but if they do not then it will take longer. Works every time.
hairstylist for 13 years, working mainly in great clips-style places...can say that we only say "sit still, or i will cut you" if the child is moving and causing ANY type of safety hazard for himself or the stylist. Remember, we are using very sharp, professional scissors, and, as a hairstylist, a squirmy kid with a parent hovering over your shoulder while you try to work is VERY NERVE WRACKING. if youve ever worked with the public, you will know that sometimes, no matter what you do you cant please everybody. teach your kid to sit still while getting a haircut, or cut it YOURSELF. that hairstylist was ONLY TRYING TO DO HER JOB.
Maybe her child didnt like having his haircut, my eldest hated it when he as about that age, would cause such a kick off, even when i did it at home. But then i know nothing have 3 kids of my own and a degree in childcare, what a waste of 3 years that seems to be.
Best movie ever!
You are weird!
Here we go again~ what exactly have you said that has had anything to do with the post on this site? I think you should take your opinions to a site that actually applies to you!
"I will cut you" I'm sure she says that to plenty of people on the streets.
I would get the child out of the chair, not pay, and tell miss little Angel to ### off and go somewhere else. Great Clips is awful everywhere, I'm pretty sure half the hair dressers don't have their license.
Do u like harassing me? I spelled racist right! I'm done with u all. I have better things to do with my time! Peace
It seems there are an awful lot of "mad" people on this site, take the word "mad" which ever way or both XD
