Buffalo Wild Wings - employment

I, lawrence e. sneed is hereby filing this formal complaint.

1.) I have been an employee of buffalo wild wings since february 6th, 2009. wherefore, I am entitled to the same ideal haelth services benefits as the supervisors. such benefit and right is the right to be provided health insurance. when employees inquire about health insurance, we are ignored or our hours are shorten so therefore we cannot qualify for the insurance which is ignorant to the degree. (lawsuit warranted)

2.) slavary or ignorant! listen to this :the h. o. h (heart of the house) wage is $8 hr. the host and cashiers wage is $7.75. why do they have grown men slaving to make a living on $8 hr. loook, the principle is: "how can a cook, who is working more aggressive and under pressure get paid.25 less than a person who only stand to greet. now the fact, the cooks was hired at 10 to 13hr but the estabishment will only pay 8 because of a manager's mistake. (lawsuit warranted)

There is more to come stay tuned.

I have worked in the kitchen for a few months now and I agree that the managers are not the best. However, everyone else I work with is great. Mostly students working their way through college they are a great group of people. They have made my working experience enjoyable even on our busiest hours. Other than some of the management working in the kitchen has been an overall good experience for me.

You don't want to work here. The pay is minimum and the job is kitchen work. They got a boss in their who does drugs in front of his children, then all he does is lie and manipulate people at work. Don't work for this company it's worse than any McDonalds or Burger King. They have a rule saying you can't eat food w/o paying for it, then the boss turns around and gives away free food on the spot. its just wrong. At least if this is the only job you can get don't listen to a word of what Don Mount says he's a liar and a druggie, he's also your boss.

I applied for employment at Buffalo Wild Wings online for a new location now open in Formosa Gardens Kissimmee Fl .
I was called and asked to come in for an interview in Orlando I went to this interview hoping that I would get a job.
I went into the restaurant seeing many people there probably around 100 ! Sitting around tables & waiting to be interviewed.
A guy came up front asked me what I had applied for I had applied for Host/Hostess/Cashier position he then told me to sit at a table where I was directed to sit at another table in the back I sat with 5 others we were then approached by a Manager that said she was going to be the Host/Hostess/Cashier Manager at the new location & sat down, The first thing I noticed is she did NOT have any applications with her so I thought what's going on here maby she will tell someone to interview us one on one !
That didn't happen ! She sat down asked us all our names the asked about our experience we all talked about ourselves and the this lady told us that we were not all going to get a job with them but come back when the store opened & she would remember us & if they were hiring we could get a job. She then told us that she would interview a person for a second interview thanks for coming have a good day ! How on earth could she even know our experience when she didn't even have the applications sitting in front of her ! This was a complete waste of time & effort for this place ! I wouldn't tell anyone that asked if they should apply there ! It's B.S. ! Don't waste your time !

Training is a complete joke. They'll give you "quizzes" that mean NOTHING over the menu items (which all have complicated serving sizes and lists of ingredients) and you actually do really need to know this stuff once you are working. You can't get by half-assed. They don't make really any attempt to teach you these things, and they are focused on being "fun." My managers were too busy flirting and joking around with the teenage employees (whom they favor) and goofing off on their cellphones, playing horribly loud music and dancing to get anything accomplished. When the opening day finally came and went NOBODY knew how to properly do their job. BIG SURPRISE! I don't mind a little fun, but I want to be properly educated and informed about my workplace as well. ALSO LOOKING FOR JOBS! ANY SUGGESTIONS?!?

I work at a store near the Independence location and it's just as bad. Sexual harassment from managers, overstaffing of the servers and bartenders, one hour ticket times, and being told to shut the ### up from management is normal and expected on any given day. I would never work here again and I would never eat here again; the kitchen staff is disgusting and so are the health standards. Looking for jobs now.

I was recently hired as a bartender in a new store in Independence. I will say this is, by far, THE WORST PLACE TO WORK FOR ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH! I don't know about other BWW but this management team is like working for satan HERSELF! I work with 3-4 bartenders on any given night. Spliting your tips with 3 others is giving yourself practically nothing. I was averaging less than minimum wage. (They bring you up to minimum wage on your 2 week paycheck. Gee, Thanks) all they had to do is cut a few bartenders. If they are so worried that these bartenders couldn't handle it, then WHY DO THEY EMPLOY THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE!?!? GET RID OF THEM! So I decided since so many on at night, why not try the morning shift. Well, no business in the morning, but I have talked to several bartenders who work at BWW around the area and they say they get tables for the morning shift. NOT ME! Its an absolute joke. During what would think to be a busy NFL Sunday, the place only had 15 tables at the busiest given time...WITH 9 SERVERS! That makes it literally impossible to make any money. They are selfish, lazy, and do not care about employees. I was told by the GM that it doesnt matter how many tables you get, your tip is based on your service. I got an $8 tip on a $30 check and a $7 tip on a $32 check. Only two tables I had all day for an 8 hour shift. I made $2.13 an hour for 8 hours plus $15. That equals a little over $4 an hour... HAHAHAHAHAHA. No chance to make money.
On another note; based on corporate:
We had a team of trainers come in from around the area to train us for the Grand opening. We learned the chicken dance, Electric slide, Cupid Shuffle, and Cotton Eye Joe dance. Pretty useful.
I did not learn: certain menu items, any prices of food or alcohol, no POS (or computer) education (which made bartending hell), and many other work-related issues!
I even was yelled at by the GM about the optional celery, ranch, blue cheese catagory! She told me I didnt properly ask my customer of what they wanted. She told me everything comes with celery! Its on the menu! Check it next time and do your job!
SHE WAS WRONG! YOU GET 2 OF THE 3! The menu says it clear as day! She admitted to it, but no apology was presented.

All in all, the place is a joke. Its gonna lose its credibility due to poor management and service. I don't recommend working there. If your a complete push-over and love misery, then its the place for you. Otherwise, if you can't find employment in these hard times, its better to just be homeless cause its horrible

Sonia Tonz, the General Manager at Buffalo Wild Wings in Colonial Hts VA displayed poor managerial skills and terrible customer service qualities. Recently I applied for a position at Buffalo Wild Wings, and I was told to come in for an interview. Once the interview was over Sonia told me that nothing was available for the cashier position but” I will like for you to be train for the bartending position and I will have the outgoing bartender contact A.S.A.P so you can be trained”. Two weeks went by, I didn’t receive a call from Buffalo Wild Wings, so I called Buffalo Wild Wings to check the status of the position from the information I was told on the previous interview, when I was cut off abruptly and hung up on. I thought that was extremely rude and unprofessional. If the position was already filled or if they weren’t looking for new personal they could have politely told me before or after the interview or when I called them two weeks later they could have let me know over the phone, instead of wasting my time and rudely hanging up in my face. I used to like eat at Buffalo Wild Wings all the time, after the way I been treated I have to second guess their business as a franchise. Leadership starts at the top, if that’s how the General Managers treat people, it will surely trickle down to the rest of the staff. I ' am pretty sure nothing will come from this message but something should be fixed in the Buffalo Wild Wings organization, because nobody deserves to treated in such a horrific manner, I will be contacting the local news because in a time where jobs are scarce a person shouldn’t have to fill so low for trying to get a job.

Formal complaint eh? That's why "health" is spelled wrong... ###.

First off, shortening of hours has nothing to do with the insurance, as they go by periods. Meaning it is cumulative over a 3 month period. If they shorten your hours one week it has nothing to do with your insurance. At BWW, you must qualify over a certain amount of time.

Secondly, that statement about wages makes no sense. At ALL. Please read. "Cashiers- 7.75, Cooks- 8... how can grown men make .25 less"

They make .25 more, again, ###.

First off, this isn't the olive garden, you shake wings. Bottom line, it isn't hard. It's over minimum wage, so sounds pretty awesome.

At BWW, Cooks & Cashiers are both eligible for raises after 6-12 months, depending on performance.

So in conclusion Mr Sneed, shut up. Either learn to make your fake complaint legit, or just don't make it.
BWW is a great job, chicken nuggets on a paper plate? How easy can it get.

Find a new job, & complain about that one, because it won't get better than this gig.

Sincerely, Brit
