We had to walk away from our dream this week when David Weekley Homes decided to change prices after contracts were signed by us (and window for change was closed), cancelled our design appointment without notice or reason provided, and refused access to decision makers to work with us or our realtor to make it right. We would have split the cost of their mistake (mistakes happen) right up until they implied that giving us a military discount had been a special favor so we "owed them", cancelled that meeting without talking to us, and gave us an ultimatum to agree immediately and pay or they would sell our lot (on which we had already put money down). We had been quick to respond, thorough in making clear every detail for our dream home and had everything in writing every step of the way. We had expanded our budget and planned every upgrade, even buying a more expensive lot. We took an additional credit hit to use their lender rather than the one we already had pre-approval with. We thought we were doing everything right... Devastated and disappointed.
Ariana is the sales consultant who made the almost $9k mistake, attempted to cover her butt by cancelling everything without notifying us and refused us access to management in addition to implying our military service was undeserving. She has apparently only been with the company for 4 months. Apparently she needs some more training.
Mike the Division President then voluntarily reached out and rather than offering the solutions that might regain our trust we had expected, he doubled down on inflexibility and made it very clear that our time and business means nothing to David Weekley. Why he bothered to talk to us at all without any intention of working with us is baffling. All we asked was to work with another (ANY other) sales agent because Ariana had become someone we could not trust or work with. Other agents are available, but somehow this request was "impossible".
Your team already has the contract, emails, text screenshots, etc from our realtor but has chosen to do nothing rather than prove your integrity. We are completely flabbergasted.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
