I had the worst experience ever in your store #0395, 5598 W Sample Rd, Margate, Fl 33073. Winn Dixie Liquor Store. My horrible experience took place on Wednesday, afternoon December 17, 2021. I entered the store to purchase Florida Lottery tickets and scratch offs. There were only 3 customers myself and two others along with the cashier. I waited my turn presented the male cashier (sorry I did not get his name or remember seeing a name tag), my Florida Lottery prefilled ticket slips, and I started to look at the scratch offs inside the case. He said do you want any of the scratch offs I said yes but I will wait to you finished the two other customers, because I want to know the number on the bottom of the tickets I want to purchase.
He outer out Infront of a female customer I cannot sit here and tell you the ticket number on the tickets with extreme attitude. I was so embarrassed by his outburst. I politely responded sir I will wait until your done with this customer. He never even asked me how many tickets I intended to buy or what numbers I wanted him to tell me.
At this point I requested him to call his manager, He stated that he was not going to call no one and if I needed a manager, for me to leave the Liquor store and go next door and ask for Wayne. At this point I was still in complete disbelief and never have I ever had a store associate speak to me in this tone and so aggressively and refused to contact any supervisor or manager.
I told him I did not want my lottery tickets he dropped and exited the store and went inside the main Grocery store, requested a manager and I think the lady whom I spoke to was just a front-line supervisor cause the store manager was on lunch break. I then asked her what is the store policy when a customer wants to purchase scratch offs, she looked puzzled. So, I asked once again she said if your 21 years or older you can purchase tickets. So, I stated I like to buy the tickets with the lowest number on the bottom is that an issue if I wanted to know the ticket number, she stated no ma'am it is not. So, I then told her what my complaint was. She expressed the store manager was out to lunch and he will be back in 20 minutes or so. I informed her I will wait cause this needed to be addressed.
I patiently waited until the store Manager Wayne, completed his lunch break, and told him my complaint and how I was treated as were talking the Liquor Store manager Kaila, entered the store and he introduced me to her and told her my complaint. And he also stated the cashier told him "I wanted to know the ticket number on all the ticket's" which is a blatant lie. Afterwards I expressed I still wanted to purchase the scratch offs so she walked me next door and assisted me with my purchase and apologized for my experience. But this needs to be addressed the male associated in my opinion doesn't belong on the front line or at in a cashiering position he lacks customers experience and common sense.
Desired outcome: Some sort of discipline action/and customer service training
