My family and I have been going to this dollar general for the 6 years we have lived in the area. We have experienced bad service from them over the years, but tonight 6/24/2021 has taken the cake! I went in there to grab 2 sodas and 2 bags of chips, at this time I went in at 7:30 pm only 2 people on duty (as usual) and never a manager on duty and when there is one she never wants to work and help catch up the long lines they are known for. One wasn't in dress code and could not count back change to save his life or work the register. When I asked for a receipt he could and would not provide one due to the lack of training he had, he said and I quote (I don't know how to print one out). He had to ask me how much change I was supposed to receive! It shows how much is supposed to be given back on his screen, and yet he couldn't read that. He was also dressed from head to toe as a gangster! Huge gold chains, dark sunshades were I couldn't see his eyes, pants sagging to his knees, and a killer clown psychopath tee shirt. The several females ahead of me inline he kept being unprofessional with and made feel uncomfortable by calling them baby and sweetie, even calling one woman's very young daughter baby, and when I mean young like maybe 6 or 7. The dude was in his late 20s! Other customers had been in there less time than me and went looking for the other cashier on duty who then announced to the store that she was not signing on to her register period, when asked why by the customers she replied with I already signed off and closed down and counted out my drawer, by the way this was 8:30 pm and the store doesn't close until 10pm, I know for a fact she knows how busy that store gets because she has been there as an employee for several years! She just didn't want to run a register or help get the line down. When the new guy asked her for help, she walked off, acting like she didn't hear him at all. By the time I got to the register, I had been waiting in line for over an hour. The man behind me was cussing and yelling at the new guy. Everyone in line was yelling and Irate, and the other cashier/stockier did nothing to help and wouldn't not call the store manager for assistance on the matter. This store has always been miss stocked, dirty and unprofessional. Never run properly as it should be. The isles are always blocked by random carts of junk they won't put up, the prices are all mixed up and inventory mixed together to where It's hard to know what price tag is for what item. Some of the food items I have gotten in the past were out of date and when I try to take it back they won't allow without a receipt and 70 percent of the time the employees won't give you a receipt even when asked claiming the machine isn't working when I can physically see them take my receipt and throw it away. Including all the nasty females they have hired and fired hitting on me in front of my small children and wife while on duty, asking for my phone number in front of them several times. This store and its management are a mess and a half! In all honesty, the Management needs to be fired and more experienced people should be hired. They will literally hire anyone right off the street, throw them on a register and make them figure out the rest on their own. It's always our last resort store as we have resulted in driving 15 extra miles out of the way to another store to get items rather than going to this store which is only 5 miles away. Something needs to change with this store and its employees. This is getting old, and I'm sure I'm not the only customer complaining about this store. Yes, I have tried to talk to the store manager and other managers on duty about these issues, and all they do is laugh in my face and look at me like I'm crazy. I'm at my wits end. Hopefully something can be done.
