Corrupt/Fraudulent Business Practices
My husband and I purchased 2 chairs on December 27th, 2020. We decided to make the purchase because of their 1 year interest free credit card with Synchrony Bank. The furniture was supposed to be here in March, however the dates continued to be moved back and then we received a call from Synchrony saying that they were cancelling the card because the furniture had not been delivered. This was on April 26th. The result of this was a major decrease in our credit score. I have called the store manager and owner several times. The owner has never returned a call, and the store Manager finally called after repeated attempts to reach her. She said that the owner refuses to give us our deposit back because we signed a contract. Needless to say they have not kept their side of the deal, destroyed our credit and we still have no furniture and they have no idea when it may arrive Based on the fact that the furniture has never arrived and mostly the fact that because of their bait and switch tactics to get us to buy the furniture. We cancelled our order, but deserve our deposit of $725.51 back. I find that this is deceptive selling and should be dealt with. We are elderly and this has affected our credit. We just moved to Florida, and I find it sad that companies like this can take advantage of people our age. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and FLA AG - will go to the news next as I am not getting any resolution at all. I would think Lazy Boy would want to protect their brand/image. I have purchased from Lazy Boy in the past (not from this store) and had good experience.
Desired outcome: refund of deposit - $725.00
