I signed up for a membership in November 2022 I think, I was training with two trainers. They were not available after three months in all of sudden. One trainer left and the other was managing other gyms, so that left me with no one to train with due to no one being available that works with my schedule which I was guaranteed, which I waited for two weeks with no one available. Then I moved to a different county and so I called to cancel and the lady told me I had to come in to show proof that I had moved to cancel my membership. This was in February 2023, so I went in and she took all my documents and said that's all they needed and I left. Come June of the same year, they start charging me again which I didn't realized until Aug 2nd I think it was, that they had charged me 4 times in two months so I disputed this with my bank and got my money back and I also called the gym which they did not answer. Then this new trainer emails me to come and join her class. I had emailed her that I had cancelled my membership in February, she emailed back stating that I have an active membership. WTF! Then a week ago I get a call from collection agency that they sent my "balance" to collection. I did my part to cancel my membership, and I don't know what kind of scam they are doing but I will fight this! THIS IS FRAUD
Claimed loss: They kept taking money out but my bank didn't let it go through however, I was down up to $500 every time they tried to take my money because it was being "processed" but never cleared. This was a hit every time!
Desired outcome: Get this collection BS corrected! Because I did what I was supposed to do to cancel my membership.
