Community Financial Service Centers [CFSC] - cashing check

My husband and I arrived to cash a check at the location that he received Friday via his employer. With it being the first day of the month (November 1st) we needed the check cashed for money to give to our landlord for rent. Our bank typically deposits checks one business day later and with it being Friday it wasn't guaranteed we would have it before Monday; regardless it would mean our rent would be Late so we chose to go the alternative route and cash it.

Nonetheless we arrived at the North and Kimball location and clerk was not helpful or patient with us at all. She asked if we ever used currency exchange before, and we have to send money out of state, so she asked for the location that we use. I gave her the location, she had to look in a book to find it. I found it faster googling it so I provided to info to her and the phone and she called them. She then said that we never cashed checks with them before which we didn't so she had to call someone else to get approval. Then she asked for my husband's phone number which we provided, but my husband left his phone at home and she wanted him to use it for some reason but she didn't disclose.
Then she asked for a proof of address which I provided. Then she wanted my husband's employers information and telephone number to verify his employment.
In the midst of all of this she was getting frustrated when we asked why this was such a task. I've cashed checks before long long ago and never had such a surgical dissection of information. We asked what and why was this an issue and she replied if we want we can go somewhere else.
She also included that she doesn't know if we took a picture of the check to deposit in our bank and then we were trying to cash it for money at their establishment to get "double pay", that sounds like she's implying that we were crooks on some sort of heist. At this point I am floored by the her lack of professionalism and her questioning our integrity when all we needed to do was pay our rent.

At the end of all of the back and forth and phone calls between her and who ever; she just denied cashing the check.

So now we didn't have money up front for rent and we have to pay a fee; not to mention we wasted our time and a trip via public transportation. And we were embarrassed by the staff and made out to look like some sort of Bonnie and Clyde with my 5 year old son there.
We typically get direct deposit however my husband's company switched over their payroll and he had received a check in this instance. And as first time customer for cashing checks after explaining the situation as thoroughly as possible, we were not helped or explained anything, just shunned away.
It was extremely embarrassing and so unnecessary. I understand that there is a protocol they have to follow but the clerk had no clue how to be professional about it.

We will never use this service again for any reason. And I hope I can save people a headache and aggravation by saying something about this.
