My attempt to submit a complaint via e-mail as failed twice so I just stopped going to that particular jewel. Sadly the nasty attitude the smart aleckie young girl and the "handling" by the female store manager is going to send more customers than just myself shopping elsewhere.
I can not recall the exact date or time but I do recall some of my the nicest people were in the store working Unfortunately they just work there and they were unable to get the manager's attention until I offer to just write a letter to corporate.
Incident #1 - a young girl working by self checkout walked in front of me while I was checking out my groceries, failed to excuse herself and almost touched me. I think her name was "Taquara" or Teceara"- The customer stand near me stated how rude it was. I dismissed it since I am both a professional and a senior and did not want to make a scene.
Incident #2 - The same girl a week later rudely interrupted the person assisting me and told him that she would help me and he should go help someone else. - Very disrespectfully! I told her I did not need her help and I was okay with the party assisting me since he always does. I tried to politely ignore her when she interrupted I reminded her that I was not talking to her. I asked for a manager. It was all a fog of bull poop after that. I only had a problem with an item I was scanning that was over priced. It would have taken the person assisting me a minute and then they could go on to the next person. Tecera or Tequara was so ignorant even the other customer apologized for her rudeness! After I finished ringing out my order I asked for the manager again. Perhaps my being annoyed with this ignorant little girl made me less than patient. I said no problem I will just write a letter to your corporate office The manager finally appears. She was reasonably pleasant while she"flexed her authority"and talked about the lack of training at this store where she was now the manager. The young lady at self check out should have learned simple skills at home. She was rude, obnoxious and failed simple home training protocol. Finally I get to listen to a manager. I was more listening than talking since she had already spoken with the rude young lady — THIS IS PART OF THE E-MAIL I ATTEMPTED AFTER SEARCHING FOR A CUSTOMER SERVICE CORPORATE MAILING ADDRESS.
Customer Service and Management at the Oak Forest, Illinois location on 159th and Harlem has caused me to shop at other stores line Mariano or Aldi. The prices are okay and the products are sometimes exceptional. Unfortunately when you have an issue that needs the manager's attention and he or she addresses like you're one of the staff it's insulting. You may or may not get this e-mail but I used to shop at Jewel two or three times a week spending an average of $65.00 to $150.00 each trip. After being disrespected by one of the"young girls"not once but twice in one week and them being"handled"by the manager it says volumes about your stores professionalism.
Our grocery bill averages $1,000.00 to $1400.00 per month caring for two seniors and two large dogs. The customer service and the slew of young girls who spend more time gossiping about personal issues and flexing their make believe authority is cause to shop elsewhere.
There are a few people at that store that are just totally terrific but the young"smart aleck" girls? Taquera? and her female manager or the female store manager is not of reflection of my business ethics and a very poor reflection of customer service.
Claimed loss: There is no loss except the loss of my business and the sad reality that every time I have a reward the item is out of stock.
Desired outcome: Better customer service and more professional management. Try managing staff and not customers.
Jewel-Osco - manger
Jewels in Oak Forest IL manger Bill L has a bad chip on his shoulder..I'm a vendor for Red Bull and I always have to speak with a manager when I arrive. My very first time working the store, I couldn't find a manger so I asked a store employee to help me find one..So the young man pages him and he comes to where I was in the aisle. So I tell him who I am and he's upset bc I made him walk to aisle 4 and said I didn't look for him..I tell him I did look for you, and that this is my first time working this store and I didn't know what you looked like..So he just has the nastiest attitude whole time I worked..
So I have to work this store again mind you I haven't been back for a whole month bc I was trying to avoid it bc of what happened to me the first time... So this past Saturday I get to the store and start looking for a manager and to my luck it's him again Bill L..He must have remembered me and tells my where to find my back stock but there's pallets in the way..So I ask him a simple question and he just goes off on me saying you've been here b4 you know where it is...So I'm like whatever I just wanna hurry and finish. I start to move the pallet out my way and spices start to fall from the top of the pallet cuz somebody didn't place it securely on top and he comes over and oh lord he starts snapping on me..He goes this is not where the item is and your breaking things and tell him it's not even my job to be moving pallets out the way & somebody didn't put this stuff up right and he's turning beat red and getting loud..So again I respond back informing him that he said my back stock was in back of it.. And again he gets super loud and tells me I have a nasty attitude, so I tell him I'm done and that somebody else will come and do the job and that I will never ever come back to this store bc I don't have to deal with crazy lazy people
And I will be calling corporate on him
