On 11-16-21 I awakened our of sleep twice and could not breathe or swallow. My husband called Richmond Ky Pulmonary around 10 am to see what I might need to do. My cardiologist had just told me on Friday that I had Pulmonary Hypertension but this was the first time I had stopped breathing. It was scary. It took 3 times to get someone and waited put around 3 something the asst relayed message that Davenport said to keep using the oxygen and if it happen again to go to ER. My husband asked that Davenport call him. But she called me at home instead of him.
When she called she preceded to tell me that my husband had demanded a call back. I told her ge was concerned I had stopped breathing twice in the night early morning hrs and it was concerning. She told me just to continue oxygen that they prescribed me. I tried to ask questions bur she very rudely told me they didn't know what would cause that. I asked if the assistant had written down that I had just been dx with Pulmonary Artery Hypertension. She said no but must have asked and she told her yes I assume because she said she did tell it. Then she asked who dx and I told her Cardiologist. Again she told me they had already did a sleep test at home on me and that they prescribed oxygen. She told me if it happens again go to ER.
I asked so anything you need to know go to ER and she said yes. I then asked why do we go to you all then we just need to go to the hospital. I told her I had told my husband if I died to sue her. She got loud and told me she did not have to listen to my condescending and I said no ma'am you don't you [censored]. I did not call her a stupid [censored] and I did not threaten to report her but I called the adm ofc which turned out to be a donation office adm. She took my number and name to get someone who handles complaints to call me. Shortly after wards this ended up in my chart.
Rachel Davenport called us on a Friday to cancel our appts for full Functional Pulmonolgy Test that was either scheduled on a Mon or Tuesday because the woman who did them was elderly and had asthma. I would like to suggest that a younger person be hired to help her since she has these issues and Covid was ob the rise. Patients having breathing issues want to breathe and from Sept to Jan 22 is a long time. We want to breathe too.
I did tell Rachel Davenport it seems my health problems were to complex for her to handle when she again told me they prescribed me oxygen. No one wants to take care of the patient's needs bow because of clinical. I really think you will hear more about Davenport because she got away with this twice with me. It's to difficult to make a complaint. It should be in MyChart and a copy of this should be there with Rachel Davenport's.
My cardiologist had faxed them the findings of PAG
My husband spoke to Dr Iqbal to report this and to see if we could bypass Rachel Davenport but he said no. He asked him to refer us to someone else but future appt was canceled but no referral as yet.
Sincerely
Marcella Whitaker
Desired outcome: She be monitored so others are not treated this way
