The date of this incident happen about six months ago, around January 2021. I had my Grand Kids over for the weekend, and I went to the gym around 11:30 pm on a Saturday night. This was at Anytime Fitness in Jessup MD. I live in the Mission Place Apartments so this location is convenient for me.
My Wife sent the Grand Kids looking for me, so they arrived at the gym's door. I opened the door to talk to them, and since it was Winter time, I allow them to enter the gym and after talking with them showed them around the gym.
Little did I know that there was a Tailgating Policy in place. Until the next day when I attempted to enter the gym and my keyfob did not work. I knocked on the door and one of the staff members allowed me to enter and then explained to me that my account was locked due to violating the Tailgating Policy. And that I would have to pay a $50 fee to get my account unlocked! This was Outrageous! Because I did not intentionally allow someone in to work out. These were my Grand Kids 13 and 16 years old. That I needed to speak to and just allowed them in to show them around the gym!
I've seen the manager, bring his two minors into the gym and lock them in the trainers room, while he trained others. I've seen him enter the gym during the COVID-19 Shutdown!
So why was my Grand Kids a big deal!
With the Staff they have now, convenience is the only reason, I would still use that Anytime Fitness facility!
Desired outcome: Unlock my Account and Keyfob, especially since they are still getting paid through my Active Fit Membership!
