CVS - CVS Pharmacy on Noland Road, Independence, Missouri

On Monday, October 30 at around 10 AM, my doctor wrote 2 prescriptions for me and submitted them to CVS Pharmacy on Noland Road in Independence, Missouri. I received an acknowledgement from CVS at 10:20 AM and was told my medicines would be ready later that afternoon. A few hours later I was told by text message that there would be a delay and that the pharmacy would notify me when my meds would be ready for pickup. I then concluded that I would hear from the pharmacy the next morning and could then send for my meds. I waited all morning on Tuesday and hearing nothing by noon, I called the CVS 800 number to complain and ask about my medicines. The nice lady on the line asked me to hold until she could call the store and check on the status. She came back on the line and informed me that my drugs would be in at 3:30pm and that the pharmacy would notify me. At around 5:00pm having not heard, I went to my on-line account and saw that my Rx's were ready for pick-up although I had not been notified. I was now home alone and my only option was to drive to the pharmacy for pick-up. I am 88 years of age and walking is difficult for me so I decided to call the drug store beforehand and inquire whether the drive-thru was open (since in my experience with this store one never knows). The person answering the phone when I called could not answer my question since she did not work in the pharmacy. I asked if she could connect me with the pharmacy and when she did I waited ... and waited ... and waited. I made note of the time when I called and 20 minutes later no one in pharmacy had picked up the phone. I then decided to take a chance and drive to the store and take a chance that the drive thru was open (I am 88 years old and have difficulty walking). When I arrived, to no big surprise their much used sign was in the drive thru window: "Drive thru closed. Please come inside for your prescriptions". I did not have my usual walker with me but with the aide of a cane that I keep in my car, I was able to get to the pharmacy at the rear of the store. The first thing I noticed was that there were 4 people working behind the counter and I wondered why couldn't at least one of them have taken the time to answer the phone when I called? I could very easily have just let this unpleasant episode just pass but during the last few days it has bothered me and I felt I should bring it to the attention of someone, thus this letter at this time.

Thank you,

J. Calvin Downing

CVS - Customer service

I am not leaving my house since COVID because I have an autoimmune condition. My husband has been picking up my prescriptions for the entire time we have been married which is 10 years.

Yesterday I spent an hour on hold with someone at my local CVS store and asked what my husband would need to bring with him to pick up my prescription record for last year. I was informed he just needed a copy of my drivers license.

He took the copy with him and was informed by the pharmacist that he needed a Power of Attorney document. My husband went to 4 other pharmacies with the copy of my drivers license and was able to obtain this same information.

If my husband picks up my prescriptions for me all of the time there should be no problem with him getting my prescription record. If you treat customers badly they will not return.

I need this print out ASAP and do not have time to wait for it to be mailed.

Desired outcome: My print out immediately.
