I have a warranty for my tires which were purchased at a Mr. Tire location in Maryland. When I brought my tires in to the Indian Trail location, I was told the tires were no longer made and the tire was replaced with another brand that is visibly thinner. I called the Indian trail location and they stated that the tire was correct. I then called the Maryland location that I had purchased my tires from they told me that the tires was still being made and gave me the part number. I then called another North Carolina location to see if they could order the tire. They were able to order the tire.
When I called the Indian Trail location with the part number they wanted to call the location that could get me the tire.
I am very upset about this. I spent a large amount of money for all 4 tires and the roadside warranty.
I am upset to be lied to and handling my complaint should have been better than making me feel like I don't know what I am talking about.
The tire in question is an Eagle Sport All Season tire the purchase price is $189.00. Do I now have to buy this tire outright even though I have a warranty, because one of the locations did not do due diligence by trying to find the tire? Is this common practice to find a cheaper tire to replace for a warranty? I have been a Mr. Tire customer since 2011, bringing all my vehicles to this business. I feel like I have been lied to and will now not trust this company again.
Claimed loss: If I have to purchase the new tire, I will be seeking the cost of the tire plus travel and the headache of having to research and find my own solution.
Desired outcome: My tire being replaced with the tire I purchased and a free service for the headache of dealing with this situation at the location of my choice.
