I'm a regular customer who goes there all the time. I I went there around 7:30pm today and the register guy was so mean and very rude. I bought Beef steak for no price. It looked expensive but I really wanted to eat good meat, so I didn't mind paying whatever it cost, so I brought it with some other stuff to register. He asked me how much beef stark is. I didn't know it didn't have any tag. He supposed to find out for himself but he had an attitude that I should know the price...what an attitude for a customer!
He told me no price on this item, so I said I won't buy it. He difinally lost you guys business for sure. Then after that he is really crazy! When I paid he told me "Do Not Throw Money At Me!". I'm like what? I didn't know what he was talking about. My money was on the register table and he didn't see it at first and he kept saying how much, so I pointed to my money on the table then he told me that I threw money at him. What kind of customer service is this? You shouldn't hire a crazy guy like him period.

Stop & Shop - Numbers of registers open
Between 12 Noon and about 1:00pm on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 I observed two registers open (maybe three) with lines of customers some five and six customers deep, while the self-service line was quite long.
During late December before Christmas, two registers being open is not enough. It seems to me that most of the customers at the Stop and Shop are non-White and I suspect the non-complaining non-White customers tolerate the inconvenience out of cultural conditioning.
Stop and Shop can do better.
Were the customers White or from a higher socio-economic bracket, the numbers of registers open would be increased to reduce the long lines of carts at the registers.
Desired outcome: Open more manned registers for customers to check-out during and outside of major holiday periods.
Stop & Shop - Employees
Carts are being left in the parking lot. No available shopping carts. The carts and baskets are not being cleaned. The self-checked registers are not being wiped and cleaned. There's an indian security guard that stands next to the self-checkout registers that bullies and sexually harasses women. The homeless walks around the store opening up packages of food, eating the food, and throwing the packages with their saliva back on the shelf. There's a group of employees that stand very close together at the self checkout in a group.
Stop & Shop - No shopping carts available / security
The employees refuse to go and get the shopping carts from the parking lot located at 625 Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn, NY. Customers are forced to beg for shopping carts from other customers. Customers are forced to wipe down the shopping carts themselves, although this is unlawful according to The NYS Department Of Agriculture. There's a cluster/ group of employees that hang out at self checkout. Many times, some of the women/ female employees role their eyes at customers and refuse to help or serve them. When customers purchase reusable bags along with their groceries, some of the cashiers throw the bags at the customers expecting the customers to bags the grocery items themselves and say, "here". Also, some of the male security guards sexually harass, follow and pick on female customers. There's also guys who come in the store, hang out, rip open 10 or more food packages with their mouth during this Covid-19/ Coronavirus, eat, put these food packages with human saliva back on the shelf, wear no mask, and walk up and down the aisles for several hours. Some of the store loss prevention does nothing, along with the security guards who sexually harass and stare down female customers. At the end of the night, some of the employees stand in groups of two or more in front of the aisles talking in each other's face out loud and wearing no mask. Some of the employees bully and abuse the customers (especially the women/ female employees) by approaching them in groups at the checkout areas. Some of the female cashier supervisors tell the cashiers not to bag the customers items or groceries. I don't here most of the employees say, "thank you for shopping at Stop and Shop or have a nice day".
Desired outcome: Please retrain the staff.
Stop & Shop - The manager Kyle, does not make sure there’s enough shopping carts. Many of the shopping carts are left in the parking lot.
Some of the employees are rude and abusive to customers. Some of the employees and management speak in a rough tone to customers. Some of the staff role their eyes at the customers. Some are creating a bullying, abusive, and hostile environment. When there are mean street guys that walk around the store wearing no mask, the management and security pretend they don't see them. They allow these guys to shop, walk around the store, and intimidate customers.
Stop & Shop - Store’s security guard... One in particular.
My day off, running errands, I enter store #2586 @625 atlantic ave in brooklyn, ny. Approximately 1:45 pm wed 8/12/20 with 2 small-med shopping bags on my wrist. Male security guard who appears to be of indian descent standing near produce, I already get "the look" because I have shopping bags that can potentially be used to maybe shoplift. I hate that uncomfortable feeling that's a regular occurrence in stores, smh. Anyway, he did assist me with getting a store shopping cart...
But, as I enter the area with the self checkout registers, which is at the other end of the store, I see this same security guard now a few feet away from me, leaning over seemingly observing my checkout. Is stop & shop serious?! I do not appreciate this uncomfortableness! I was gonna say something, but I chose to just pack my things & continue to my next destination. Unless one is seen doing something questionable, there's no reason for anyone to be made to feel like they're doing anything wrong, before they're actually doing something! I was pretty much in & out. My checkout time was 2:11 pm... The manager may remember me, he was near the front as well in the produce section conversing w/another employee & I asked him if they had mint leaves. Though, i'm not in that store often, as of lately, i've been shopping in that location since it was previously pathmark, since over 20 years ago. But yet, same building, i've been made to feel like I don't belong.
Many years ago i've worked retail & i've worked as a security guard. One can be observant without having to prove that they're being an "exceptional" top flight security guard by following "particular" customers around!
