1MAR22 - I dropped off my 2015 Kia Sorento for AWD issue early morning. only my front wheels are working and the rear wheel is not. I didn't get a call until 3pm to tell me that yes, my back wheel is not working but can't tell me what's wrong with it. I will be charge for $189 for diagnostic if it's not power train warranty. My vehicle has under 90K miles on it at this time. Later on Pete called me and told me that it's possible electrical issue and I have to pay by the hour to his mechanic to find out where is the issue and it's not under the power train warranty. It will take him about 4-6 hours to find the issue. so I decided not to proceed.
2MAR22 - picked up the car and paid $205 with Pete's supervisor (Pete was off).
16MAR22 - went to my personal mechanic and found out it's not electrical issue. they diagnosed that it's the rear differential clutch issue and paid $200. Told me that it's part of the power.
17MAR22 - I brought my Sorento back to Kia service to confirm what my mechanic found was true. if it is I will get my diagnostic fee back. Pete suggest me to bring it back the following week due to weekend schedule is busy.
21MAR22 - I dropped it off for the 2nd diagnostic. no courtesy car given, I was told none available. I didn't get a call until 24MAR22. I have to call people to drive me to go to drill. 24MAR22, Pete told me that it is the rear coupling and the part is ordered and started the refund for the $205. He told me that the estimate arrival date for the part would be Tuesday 29MAR22.
28MAR22 - I picked up the car for work and wait for the part to arrive.
29-31MAR22 - I kept calling to check for the arrival of the part. I get no answer nor call back. left many voicemails.
1APR22 - I decided to show up in person at the Kia Service to ask if my part is here. Pete told me that it is in person. So I left the car with him to hope to get it fixed ASAP over the weekend. Pete told me that he will try his best to fix it by Saturday or early Monday morning.
4APR22 - I called at 0900 and left message. Pete returned my call at 1007 and said that he just received the part this morning and will work on the car now and hopefully finish I by early this afternoon. (Pete lied to me in person about the part). At 1300, Pete called that the coupling is replaced but the power is still not going to the rear wheels or the ECU. Checking the issue now.
5APR22 - At 1400, Pete told me that they are still looking for the issue. so I told him to forget about it since they can't still find the issue for a whole week. I can't really trust them at this point, how can Kia service can't find the issue on a Kia vehicle. At 1600, Pete called and told me that my car will be ready by tomorrow morning at 1000 because they have to put the car back together.
6APR22 - around 1000, Pete sent a lyft to pick me up from home to Kia to pick up my car. I tried to speak to the supervisor about my service experience with them. He told me it's my fault not to have them repair my car from the first place. So I have nothing to say because all he see it's my fault. Also I acquired about the refund that Pete said they will give back. Pete told me that they didn't start the refund process. (another lie).
overall, this is a very bad experience for me. missed work for few days. didn't have the car for few days with not loaner car. spent over $400 and still didn't get the car fixed. Been lied to many times. keep pushing back the schedule. also I asked how much to get it fix with the ECU changed. Pete told me $865. I told him on 7APR22, I would do the repair but I need a courtesy car. He told me he will work on it and call me back. He never called back.
Desired outcome: I prefer 1. Kia will find and fix my issue with free of charge at this point. I don't really care about the refund.2. trade in my car with market value and purchase a new car.
KIA Motors - service department
I call first on the phone for appointment for Aug 3, 2019 to have my KIa sorenno serviced for air condition, oil change, etc. When i got thier the service tech tell me that he doesnot have enough staff to work on air conditioning. So reschudule my appointment for Aug 13, 2019 . when i got thier same Tech name Bob tell me it his fault, he never call me, but the air collant machine is not working and he only have a KIA solo to give as a loaner vehicle. I work double shift 5 days a week and I am now nervous to trust this dealership to touch my vehicle. So He claim he call me when the machine is working again. This the worst customer service and i am very disappointed. Feel free to call me [protected] I want action.
