Cheapoair.com concealed critical information related to their flight package and resulted in horrible emotional and financial consequences for my family. Their deceiving and fraud business practices have to be stopped before they hurt more consumers.
Here is my story:
My parents received u. S. Tourist visas to visit my family in minneapolis. I booked two international airline tickets from shanghai (Pvg) to minneapolis (Msp) through cheapoair.com. The itinerary included a three hour layover in vancouver (Yvr). However, cheapoair.com concealed critical information that a canadian visa is needed to make the connection flight in vancouver (Yvr). Without this critical information, I made a misinformed decision to purchase the two tickets.
The consequences are disastrous!
Because cheapoair.com withheld critical information, we did not find out that my parents needed canadian visas to be able to make the connection flights in vancouver. They were declined to board the shanghai – vancouver flight we booked from cheapoair.com. I called cheapoair.com about the situation but they were unwilling to exchange their flight with a u. S. Bound flight without charging us $5000 for the one way economy class tickets (Which is 2.7 times of the original purchasing price). My parents, startled by cheapoair.com's action, ended up purchasing two costly last minute u. S. Bound international flight tickets at the airport ticket counter.
I am a reasonably forgiving consumer and do not usually bring my bad consumer experience to public. However, cheapoair.com's action has resulted in horrible emotional and financial consequences for my family, and their deceiving and fraud business practices have to be stopped before they hurt more consumers like my families.
I am willing to do anything in my power to help cheapoair.com realize what they are doing is wrong and needed to be stopped. Please feel free to contact me if you need any further information about my complaint.

CheapOair - trying to cheat on the issued paper tickets
I bought 4 international round trip tickets between Atlanta, USA and Chennai, India on 3/19/2011 for my family’s travel on 5/27/2011. I spent app. $6600 for this trip, received the paper tickets in March 2011. CheapOAir.com is asking me to return the tickets now (2 months after issuing the ticket and 2 weeks before the travel date). They claim there is a problem with the airlines so the issued tickets are not going to be valid. I contacted the airline and they sent an email saying the problem is not with the airline and problem is with CheapOAir.com. They airline clearly says we have confirmed seats. I provided 3 alternate acceptable equivalent itineraries to CheapOAir.com but they are forcing me to accept backtracking route and via an unstable region with more stops and 6 more hours of travel time on each route. They are trying to give us a lemon for the purchased apple. It would cost additional $4000 to buy these tickets now. The scheduled flights are going to be in services, there is no mechanical problem or weather related problem. CheapOAir.com is trying to cheat us. They need to behave. I am in touch with GA Governors Office Of Consumer Affairs and Planning to file a complaint with NYC Dept. Of Consumer Affairs. Plan to file a formal complaint with FAA. Be careful when buying ticket from CheapOAir.com. I hope CheapOAir.com make honor the purchased tickets and save their name. Our ticket reference numbers are FLUA/CA/63/6866727 and Ref: FLUA/CA/62/6866721

Adammada, I see your profile is from Chicago Illinois, sorry to say but we have never had an employee from Chicago, unless you commuted back and forth from Chicago to New York! Posting false accusations to blog sites to hurt a person or company, is against FTC policies.
This is in regards to Mr.Krishan, his reservation was taken care of and CheapOair.com paid all of the additonal expenses to get his concern resolved. He accepted the new terms of the flights, and was please with the outcome!
Disgruntled employee!
Krishnan, sorry to hear about your all-too-common experience with CheapOair. I actually worked for them for a few days and got to see first hand how underhanded and sleezy they are. They are ripoff artists, dishonest, and have no ethics or morals. They should be put out of business, for they're practices are pretty much illegal. Everyone who deals with them has troubles, I hope yours works out.
CheapOair - overbilling and fraud!
On February 3rd 2008 we purchased 2 tickets to the Phillippines totaling $2400. Customer service was OK during the payment phase. Later, on the 5th of February, 2008 we noticed we were billed 2 other charges totaling $1019.80, with no explanation. We used our Visa CheckCard, and my checking account was drained completely from that overcharge. We have tried continuously for 3 days to contact Customer Service with no luck, and no explanations of the charges. They were confirmed by our credit union as charged by CheapOair. When they returned my call about the overcharges, the caller I.D. had the name "JEN NY", rather than Cheapoair. The fly-by-night company has made no effort to reimburse the unauthorized charges. Because I am a police officer I suspected fraud after seeing the charges, and other information that raised red flags. I have contacted the Virginia Attorney General's office and intend to file criminal fraud charges against Cheapoair and it's parent companies and officers by February 10th. No further calls have been returned by the company and it is obvious they have caller I.D. as they have not answered ANY calls I have made to the "billing office". I am still out $1019.80. Please stay away from this "company".
I ahve similar issue. I was trying to save money, and I ended up loosing more money and very important business meting. I hope this company to be closed completely.

On march 20, I went to Lufthansa International and after 45 minutes, I approached the desk clerk and he was not able to find my name in the system. After a while he notices the small print that says operated by Untied Airways, and told me to go to domestic flight. Now to start with I have been late to be at the Airport, now I have to take the shuttle service to go to Domestic flight. The settle bus took too long and at the time I was mad and angry that due to the misprint information I was directed to a wrong place. I went to domestic and checked in, security check-in took time, and finally I went to the Gate and the gate was closed. US Airways, agent tried to book me on the next flight, but there was no connection flight from Philadelphia to Frankfurt. So they advised me to call CHEAPOAIR(the name says it all, I should probably call them CHEATTERS O AIR), I called them and was on line for more than one hour, and this clerk keeps telling me I am considered NO-SHOW, when in fact my bag is already gone to Philadelphia. I begged this guy to help me arrange my flight, but left me on line with their horrible commercial message that keeps repeating the same commercial and very annoying!.
This agent never back to me, and here I am standing in the airport n where to go, and cost me money I paid for hotel in Addis Ababa, and all pr-arranged very important business I supposed to attend.
I kept calling them, but they know how to say we are sorry and keeps telling me we will get back to you soon, but never respond to me. I finally confront to one of supervisor VERONA, and she said we cannot refund because I am considered no show!
The fact is, they are the reason I missed my flight again due to mis-print information. I am discussing the case with my Lawyer and I also learned I am not the only person with this issue and they have been known with this kind of misleading information.
They got us also, took us for over $1100 and still can't seem to get in touch with them. Overbilled us and then -- POOF! Gone.
I purchased tickets from CheapOAir which I cancelled, and rebooked due to an error of dates. When my Discover Card came, I found charges to ALL of the tickets-even the cancelled ones. 3 months of phone calls and emails have NOT settled the fraudulent charges. They are a bogus company to be avoided.
