June 12, 2023 appt for surgery. I done everything to prepare for surgery. Stated all night cause Dr said to be there early. 6:30 am. I was there 6:15. Office workers were late. Dr had to find them to open. Complaint is after all the preparation And I was sitting in room dressed for surgery Dr comes in says your sugar is too high I can’t operate on you. You have something wrong with you. I explained I just eat like they told me too, But I could dose with insulin. He says no I’m not operating on you. Went out stuck his head out the door said to my husband I can’t operate her sugar is up. My husband told him it will go back down. We have come a long way. Dr said no I’m not operating she has something wrong with her. Ok you can tell that by looking at me. I was shocked by his attitude and his unwillingness to explain. He was suppose to do surgery on me at 7:00 am yet had a pre-op appointment sitting waiting. How can you be in surgery and do appointments too? He was supposed to only have me that morning. I think he made his mind up he wasn’t doing my surgery before I ever got there. I had surgery before and was even put all the way under with a sugar reading 230 done just fine. Was never looked at and told you have something wrong with you. To say the least I’m very very shocked at the professional operations of sono Bello. The Dr. attitude toward their clients. I’ve already spent hundreds preparing for this procedure. Not to mention the extra cost I had to add. Another story in its own. I have requested full refund. I’m not at all comfortable with this facility.
Desired outcome: Just to refund my money. I feel Like I was defaulted and hurt by my Dr’s reply. So be it
Sono Bello - False advertising, scam
I was suppose to receive lippo and skin removal in the Kenwood OH office with little to no pain as advertised. Once the pills kicked in and they started the procedure it was the worst pain I have ever been through, trust me I tried to stick it out but I just couldn’t. They stopped the procedure after about an hour or so of so much pain I was in tears and shaking. I was told they were keeping 2k regardless of the outcome but I could try again later if I wanted to. I’m not sure how this isn’t false advertising, the website clearly says expect little to no pain. I just feel scammed and I honestly feel like I deserve more than just my 2k I lost from the pain both physically and emotionally (leaving the office with liters of liquid in your stomach for absolutely nothing) I can assure you I wouldn’t have even tried doing this if I knew just how many people feel that much pain.
Desired outcome: My $2k deposit refunded
I'm sorry this happened to you, I also had a terrible experience at the Kenwood Office in 2021. The Consultation was great, Victoria was soo nice and said all the right things, and took my 500 dollar deposit. I saw her one time after that and she ignored me. The pain pills they gave me did nothing and I also felt everything. I had skin removal and lipo, I felt every tube shoved into me. They then burned my skin off, I grabbed the doctors scrubs and yelled a bad wood. After, the nurse held my skin up for me to see.
Before the procedure, they did not speak to me while I was laying on the bed, but instead debated who's turn it was to pick the music. I also feel my Doctor was either hungover or just didn't want to be there.
It was awful, and 3 years later, my left side is lumpy, and I feel like I am not walking properly.
Sorry for the long response, but you are not alone, I would love to sue them sooo bad
The same thing happened to me, however, I think its the doctor and not the clinic. I told the doctor I felt the pain so severely and was shaken as well and he had the nurse hold down my hands. I am going in for a second evaluation since the original doctor did a sloppy job and my stomach is lopsided and my belly button is off center. The center in Ontario, CA was very nice and willing to see me and the horrible results. We will see what they say. Wish me luck.
I just had the same experience at the Indianapolis location. I have what I feel is a high tolerance for pain. Initially the injections of the lidocaine solution had me in tears. They said “this is the worst part”. I laid on the table for over an hour waiting on the Dr to start the procedure. I kept telling the nurse that while laying there my back started hurting, a lot! I didn’t realize at the time it was all the fluid they had pumped into me settling in my back. The Dr started the procedure and the pain was excruciating. I asked to stop and take a breath. His response was “if we stop when you need to catch your breath, we will never get done”. I only lasted about 30min and told them to stop. I felt like I was going to pass out. The nurse took me to the recovery room to wait on my husband. I expressed again that I was very light headed. She and another nurse got me cold wash cloths and then left. When I say left, I had to tell 3 times for someone to hear me and come to my room. I’m sorry you had a similar experience but glad to know I’m not alone.
Sono Bello - Liposuction
In my initial consultation i wasn't sure about doin this. Honestly, I thought they were like cool sculpting and didn't know they only did lipo until the woman in the consultation told me. She told me that they remove the fat in one visit and that there is minimal pain and the results are immediate. I asked how much fat would be removed and was told 80% and then was told "so anywhere you can pinch fat, you won't be able to" and then she pinched her own back and said "see look I can't pinch any fat." She had it done herself according to her and showed me a picture of her before and after photos in their book. I told her I was concerned with my abdominal area and specifically the part just above the belly button and pointed it out to her. She said it won't be a problem so I went ahead and agreed to it. In my consultation with the doc he told me that I may have some sagging skin on my lower abdomen and recommended having it excised which I agreed to. No one ever said anything about possibly having excess or sagging skin in any other area at any time. So I was having upper and lower abdominal area, back, waist, and bra roll done. Had surgery and they removed between 5-6 pounds of fat (they could have easily done 10 pounds). I had my one month and the nurse mentioned that I was still swollen and that my 3 month appt would be "my happy appointment" and I said "ok that's a relief because I don't see much of a difference compared to the cost." (10k). I go for my 3 month. Not much of a difference aside from the weight I had lost on my own through diet and exercise. I still had a ton of fat in areas that I had been told I would not be able to pinch any fat. I told the same nurse that I was not happy with the results and was told that she would write it down but that I still had scar tissue so it would be too soon for them to do a "satisfaction" procedure and that we could talk more about it at my 6 month check up. I go for my 6 month. Different nurse because the one I had was out on maternity leave. I again tell the nurse I'm not happy and she agrees to have my doc come in so I can talk to him about it. He comes in and has me show him the problem areas. I show him my abdominal area and he tells me that he thinks the upper part of it is "mainly just skin" but that there might be a little fat left and agreed that there was more fat left on the right side of my lower abdomen than the left and that there was an obvious bulge on the right side. The he tells me that he was "generous" in my waist area and went lower than he should have in the procedure which was obvious to me that he was saying that to make me feel guilty about complaining about my results. I then show him an obvious indent(which is a deformity) on the left hip and then he tells me that he didn't even do the hip area so it must've been there. ( keep in mind he had just told me that he went lower than he should have in my waist. Um hello that could be why there's an indent on my hip) I tell him no it wasn't there and it's an obvious deformity and he starts arguing about it so I just let it go because I was more concerned about my abdominal area and just hoped the indent on my hip would go away once I got down to my goal weight which was 20 more pounds. I didn't mention my back area at this point either because of the same concern and worried he was going to try to get out of redoing it altogether. He eventually agreed to take some more fat out of the upper and lower part of my abdomen. Again, he never said there was any problem or excess/ saggy skin in any area other than the upper abdomen just above my belly button. This was at the end of November. So I went out to reception to schedule the "satisfaction" surgery and was told that my doctor was now working in 3 different facilities( Cincinnati, Columbus, and Nashville) and that they wouldn't have his schedule for cincinnati for the new year until around the 2nd week of January. They said he may have an appt on December 16 but I could not do that since I was out of vacation time at my work until the new year. They said they would call by the second week of January to schedule my surgery once they have his schedule. By January 15th they have not called me so I call to check in and they tell me they still don't have his schedule. I call back in February and I'm then told that he no longer works out of Cincinnati and that I will either have to try to schedule the surgery out of Columbus or apply to have a new doctor which could take 3 more weeks. So I decided to call Columbus which is a 3 hr round trip to schedule it so I don't have to wait so long. I call them and am told that they have to have my file transferred from Cinci to Columbus and that once that's done they will call to schedule my surgery. So needless to say I'm upset at this point after I hung up with them. I feel like I'm just getting the run around and so I try to call the corporate office to complain. Well when you call the "corporate" office it just connects you with Sonobellos customer service. So I gave them the short version of this and told them I was not happy and that I wanted someone to call me. So instead of them lodging a complaint with corporate they just contact the Cincinnati office who then in turn calls me and basically tells me that I can get a change of doctor quickly so I don't have to wait 3 weeks and that they are sorry I was told that and that it must've been just a miscommunication. So I agree to applying for a change of doctor which they did within a few days so they called and scheduled my "pre-op" with my new doctor which I scheduled for about a week and a half later.
That appointment was today. My new doc came into the room and said that he was told that there were some things I was not happy with and asked what they were. So I told him about my abdominal area(upper and lower) and I also mentioned about my back and bra roll which I had also noticed there was a ton of fat left. He then proceeded to pick apart all of the areas and told me that not only the fat in my upper abdominal area is "mainly just skin" but that also the fat in my back is mainly just skin and that if he were to go in there and try to remove it it could just make it worse because it is just skin and scar tissue. (Remember I was told be the nurse at my 3 month that they wouldn't schedule a redo because I still have scar tissue. So that suggests to the patient that that scar tissue will go away at some point right?) Hmmm. Keep in mind that when I initially went in I weighed about 175 pounds. Not 375 pounds. I was never told by ANYONE that I had any loose skin or that I may have unfavorable results. The only thing I was told was with the initial doctor visit and that there might be loose skin on my lower abdomen which is why I agreed to the skin excision. So the doctor today refused to take any more fat out of my back and upper abdomen siting that I would not be "happy" with the result. Now my initial doctor did say on my previous appt that I may have some loose skin in the upper abdominal area if he went in and took more fat out which I understood and he agreed to do it. Now this doctor is flat out refusing to do it. That definitely is not a satisfaction guarantee like they claim when they take your money. In fact, it's fraud. I then tell him about my bra line area and he tells me that there is a front bra line and a back bra line and that the doctor obviously didn't do the "front" bra line area. Then he says that he considers the two area to be separate and that I will have to talk to administration to see if they will let him do it because "he can't do surgery for free". Are you kidding me? I then ask to speak to someone in administration and am told they are not there and that they will have one of them call me. I paid 10 thousand dollars and there is not much difference between before and after. I think the pictures bear that out. The pictures they show on tv and the ones they show you in their book when you go in for the free consultation are drastic. Nothing like the actual results. This company is committing fraud and they misrepresent their results through shady sales tactics, lies, and backtracking. I have tried loosing weight on my own and have succeeded but it hasn't mattered how skinny I was. I have always had that little pouch over my belly bottom and that was my main concern. And instead of telling me that they might not be able to get rid of it, they lied and said they could, took my 10 grand, and then said oh sorry that you weren't told this but it is just excess skin that we can't fix. Or, the doctor today is full of it when he says it's just excess skin to try to get out of redoing a procedure for which he wasn't the initial doctor. Either way, it's fraud.
Most people that go for this are not vain, they just want a little help. A little help to fix their problem areas and make them feel a little better about themselves. A little less self conscious. And they are lied to and misled by a greedy company that cares only for money. You should be ashamed of yourselves Sonobello!
I will be contacting an attorney.
For any person that is considering going to Sonobello, don't do it!
Sono Bello - sonobello-scam/a bait and switch operation
I went in for a consultation the end of Nov. 2019 after seeing the TV commercial. I have major back issues and thought perhaps taking off areas of stomach/thighs would ease pain. All was discussed and of course I was assured that not only would I look great but there would be no problem with doing the procedure. I requested from the beginning that I wanted to ask the surgeon prior to any procedure about my medical history. I told my consultant I was having PT since July and wondered about being on my stomach and doing water Therapy. She told me I had to stay out of the pool and PT for 2 weeks. After consideration of not doing my therapy along with reviewing the proposal and financial agreement (which they gave you sign and initial in advance) I decided to not go through with any procedure at this time. I contacted contacted Sonobello within the cancellation period I was told I had and was actually given a third day due to it being over a holiday. Sonobello said I had to come in to cancel and scheduled me 2 days before surgery... this not only put me into a situation of being outside my 48 hours but also less than 6 days before Surgery so a refund wasn't going to be a possibility. I brought medical records along because they had me also come for a pre-op to follow after... and my consultant said she thought it was fine and that I could discuss with the doctor, but just as I was about to go for the pre-op she puts me with another woman and tells me this gal knows all about my situation so this person walks me right back to the nurse and doctor. I'm nervous, I leave my entire file in the original consultant's office and they're talking about procedures and what he's going to do all while my new "consultant just sits quietly and smiles" with encouragement. I was distracted by all that was going on and trying to grasp all of the details of the procedure, new things he wanted to do, more they wanted to add, etc. that I never remembered my medical file until I left the exam room and said "I needed to ask the doctor about my back!" The said "we will look into it and get back to you. Again, after thinking about this I decided I needed to get my back health in order because major back surgery could be imminent at any given time and it was too risky to have this procedure and need something else done.
Of course, I'm being charged extensively for services that were not even performed and they are saying it's because of their contract. Sonobello is truly not a company I'd ever recommend to ANYONE due to their poor business practices. They didn't respect my request for a medical records review by the surgeon or take my medical condition into any consideration... they just wanted to"literally get their cut of the money" and risk my health all at my expense. DON'T RISK YOUR'S Would be my advice!
