So, upon arrival, I was literally hasseled by the "nurses" or whatever they are just inside the doorway. They took my temperature and forced me to remove the gloves I had just put on before going inside. They insisted I not wear gloves inside their facility, by some twisted psuedo logic they think is somehow safer. It's not. Upon moving through the facility, I must have encountered approx. 20 Cleveland Clinic employees of which 7 were not wearing masks or had their masks down around their necks which is literally the same as not wearing them. Nor was anyone using gloves except in the exam room. Social distancing was a joke as well. At least of the maskless employees walked by about a foot away when they had plenty of room to be 10 feet away from me if they wanted to. On the way out, a male nurse or whatever he was, again not wearing a mask, walked right up behind me when I was waiting my turn to go safely through the exit door. I literally had to turn to him and say "step back 6 feet". He lazily shuffled his feet a little to make it appear that he was doing this. You people at the Clinic are a joke. You're selfish, self-centered and completely socially irresponsible. When I think of all the front line responders and hospital personnel across the globe busting their [censored] to help fight this ridiculous disease, well all I can say is that you are insulting them and their efforts as well as disrespecting us in the community. I hope you all catch Covid-19 and die painfully so you will learn something at least. If you want to do the right thing and wear the proper garb, go get yourself a job somewhere else doing something else. You punks. BTW, this took place this early this morning on 5/15/2020.
Cleveland Clinic - Safety conditions during covid-19
I had an appointment at the Cleveland Clinic on Cooper-Foster Park Road in Lorain, OH, on Monday, April 20, for ear infections. During the phone conference on that Friday, April 17, I was assured of the utmost safety precautions that would be taken during this Covid-19 pandemic.
I was met at the main entrance by a team who took my temperature and asked me questions, etc. They also signed me in for my appointment. When I went to the large waiting room on the second floor, there were three people behind the counter (two females and one male). NONE were wearing masks. They were in no way 6 feet apart either. In fact, they were socializing and were all in close proximity to each other--about 1 foot apart. It was not at all a professional atmosphere. When I was taken back for my appointment, I saw the person who checks us out in the ear department, and she did not have on a mask.
I complained to Kristen Johnson, my Nurse Practitioner that I had an appointment with. She notified her supervisor. The supervisor came in and told me the policy of Cleveland Clinic is that personnel are "encouraged" to wear masks, but it is not mandatory.
During this crucial time of the Corona virus, I did not even want to enter a medical facility. I think it is very POOR of the Cleveland Clinic not to require that nurses, personnel behind desks, etc., not to be masked. They are not respecting other patients or their fellow workers. When I got off the elevator, the girl behind the check-in counter on the second floor also did not have on a mask.
My appointment was at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, April 20, 2020
