Rite Aid - customer service at pharmacy

This happened on January 30, 2016 at the Rite Aide on Queen Street in Chambersburg, PA. My boyfriend, myself, and our 2 children (ages 10 and 9) went to get his prescription for methadone filled. The Pharmacist, Nitial(?) was from the very beginning rude and out of control. She told my boyfriend that she couldn't fill his script without having spoken with the prescribing doctor. He had the script IN HAND. And this was a Saturday! Pain Management is not open on a Saturday. But we immediately attempted to accommodate her and called PennState Hershey Hospital, had the appropriate doctor paged and explained to him that she refused to fill the script unless she talked to a doctor. He was shocked and in disbelief and even said to my boyfriend that he had never heard of this kind of thing before. But he humored her and called . She hung up with him and said that he would have to call back because he didn't have all the info that she was requesting. The doctor called my boyfriend back and asked him for some of the information that was on the script so that he could verify it in their system. The pharmacist overheard the whole conversation between my boyfriend and the doctor. When the doctor called her back she all but accused him of being a fraud and was asking him why he was asking my boyfriend the questions he was asking him. Mind you, we walked in that store at 2:45. My boyfriend walked out of the store to smoke and I took it upon myself to let the pharmacist know that she was wrongfully denying him health sustaining medication. I told her that I would do everything I could to make others aware of her unprofessionalism. After the doctor satisfied her requirements my boyfriend told her that it would require a pre-authorization and that he would just pay out of pocket and come back for the refund once the pre-auth went through. She told him once again that she would not give him his medication because he was not allowed to pay out of pocket for a narcotic. He called Express Scripts, the people that authorize the medication payments, and they told him that was illegal. That she could not hold his medication from him if he chose to pay out of pocket. He relayed this information to her and she yet again came up with another roadblock. She told him that if I came back into the store again that she would rip his script up and he wouldn't get it at all. The pharmacy closes at 6 and at this time we were still standing there waiting for his medication. She asked him and the children to have a seat and she would get it ready. I came back in at this time and she started closing all the pull-down metal gates that close the pharmacy up. It's 6:15 and we are still sitting there. FINALLY, at 25 minutes after 6 she opens the one gate and tells my boyfriend that if he wanted to be able to have his medication that I would have to leave the store because she was not going to give it to him if I was there! So, I had to walk out to the car and almost 4 hours later we were on our way. She not only subjected him and I to her discrimination and preconceived notions to who she thought we were but she also put our children through hell. They were so upset and hungry. I have never in my life been treated with such unprovoked, uncalled for, small mindedness, This woman needs to be reprimanded and I will put this story up in every single complaint option that Rite Aide has. So much so that they will know the story by heart.

I was at the Rite Aid store located at 7 West Landis Ave in Vineland NJ store #10487 to pick up my prescription when I encountered the most ignorant/ unbelievable service by an employee at the register. The young woman's name plate read Crystal, I was speaking to the lady next to me when she shouted " EXCUSE ME SIR" ! in the most unprofessional tones. Everyone that were waiting for service as well as another woman working at the register was shocked at this woman's bad reaction. I don't know if this is a common practice at this store to allow this employee to slam customers this way, However the management staff as well as Corporate Management should be aware that they literally have a loose cannon with very poor customer service training working in the Pharmacy Department. Maybe management at the store is aware of this issue and it's a common practice that's implemented for only specific employees ! I think the employee should be reprimanded and management needs more training on how to resolve/handle issues such as this inexcusable experience that I encountered on 2/24/16 !
