January 26,2023 at 350pm I went through the drive thru, I tried to ask for a small change to my coffee at the window. Unfortunately there a a vent so I spoke louder - still using the term “ma’am”. Without letting me speak, a woman making the coffee - my coffee, yelled at me something to the effect of “you need to not yell, she’s speaking to a customer” (her coworker on the headset) so I respond “I’m talking to you? “ And my passenger asked the Starbucks employee “why are you yelling at us?” They (both Starbucks employees) start yelling at us so loud that I couldn’t even understand what they were yelling. The shift supervisor then tried to break it up but was completely lost. We just left. I tried to call back and he laughed on the phone and said “it seems to me like a misunderstanding” no one ever took responsibility, and only offered a 1800 number. He tried offering a free drink but all I wanted was an apology over the phone and he said he’s not going to ask them to apologize. I’m currently waiting for the district managers email. I don’t think people should have to go pay $9 for a cup of coffee after a long day of work just to be yelled at.
Desired outcome: Formal complaint, or at least speak with the district manager.
