My garage caught fire in June 2020,
It is now March 2021 and my home still isn't completed. James McCorrmick quit the job and left the company in December 2020, after promising me that I would be able to move in by thanksgiving but for sure by Christmas.
Chris con Schweinitz is the owner of this franchise, and he's located at 2113 Wells Branch Austin, Texas

I told him I would get someone to finish the job.
Chris told me if I leave I would still have to pay the remainder of the balance for the unfinished job and a percentage. Chris told me that I had to stay with Servpro because James was only the contractor.
I am very, very unhappy at this point. James took the money off the second draw $14, 000 and some materials were not purchased. I believe this may be the reason the job has come to a complete halt. Chris requested a meeting with me and told me that he would assign a different contractor to the job to get it done, and it will be completed by the end of February. David Collier the assigned apparently has his own business going on during the weekdays because he only sends a man out to work a couple of hours on the weekend and has sent him out twice last week at 6:30 PM late evening for an hour doing only small job. Like setting the toilets down.
In the meantime, I have stressed to him that I am forced to live in a hotel that I am now paying for out of my own pocket because I have used all the funds for housing up due to this job that has taken way longer than expected. For every jobs that James started it was only half done.ac duct work done and there was no Thermostat on the wall, garage doors installed and there was no lock latch or handle put on, sheet rock installed and there was no hole cut for the lights to hang, doors that look like they were used doors and no door knobs. Everything was only part of the way finished, so I could never tell what the money from each draw paid for. Everything was incompletely done!
This job was $73, 000 + job and there is only one draw left with a lot of unfinished work still to be done.
I ask if they would please just have the cleaning company out to clean the home, install the blinds, make the bathrooms useable, install the smoke detectors, just the basics I would be willing to move back and sleep on the floor or air mattress. All I keep getting from them are promises and no action. Now they are not answering my calls or text. They answer when they do answer its lies.
I am requesting that this contract between Servpro and myself be voided without them threatening to put a Lien on my home.
