On April 24th I bought a pair of shoes for $75.00 from Dillard. I had a visa gift card for $35.00 that I was going to use with my purchase. The clerk asked me to run my debit card for the $40.00 and then she would apply the gift card for the rest. After running my credit card she tried running the gift card but it didn’t work. She said she would cancel the transaction and would try again. I told her just to run it all on my debit card since the gift card didn’t work. The next day I noticed the $40.00 charge plus the $75.00 charge come out of my bank account. I called my bank and they said Dillards had withdrawn the money and they couldn’t stop it unless I provided a receipt that the $40.00 were voided. I called Dillards and the manager Rhonda said she couldn’t refund the money because she was showing a canceled transaction on her end. The bank called her and explained that Dillard withdrew the $40.00 but she still insists that it wasn’t withdrawn. I have called her to follow up and she won’t return my calls. I have contacted the general manger of the store and she said Rhonda had to take care of it. I’m frustrated and disappointed that $40.00 were stolen from me by Dillard and they don’t care.
Desired outcome: I would like my refund or a gift card for $40.00.
