San antonio texas location on 410/ military: I made an interview for my initial physical at 5:50 pm. I get here on time prepped. I was asked by a nurse named Juan what I ate I told him I ate lunchables which consisted of almonds. Cranberries, apples and earlier I had other lunchable made up of turkey slices, cheese, cracker and fruits. He said I would need to eat a large full meal before coming in. I explained I have donated before alot at octapharma and came in for their deal. When I asked him for his name he said I could talk to his manager and she said whatever the nurse says goes. She asked me what I ate throughout the day, I told her a breakfast taco and lunch ables starting at 230 pm. He then said, that is not what she said. And was asked to go to restaurants and eat something and come back. I rescheduled. I sometimes wonder if they treat everyone like uneducated idiots. Seriously.
Desired outcome: If you eat meals and drink lots of water, you can donate. I have donated with octapharma for 3 years.
BioLife Plasma Services - management and quality assurance
When my fiance, Damien Ettner and I, Ashly Byrnes had tried to donate recently on December 3rd, 2019. We were both told anyone that started donating on 16 the or 17 th didn't get their samples back, which usually takes 7-10 business days, if it takes more than 14 we can't donate until samples show up. A manager on that day told me she would call us when our samples came in. I asked if we needed to take more samples and she replied, "No, you don't need anymore samples, I will call you when the samples come in." I called back today on December 5th, 2019 and spoke to Keefer, he told me we needed more samples. I already new his name, yet refused to give me any name, Human Resources, corporate or any type of phone number to report our issues. He replied, "I am not going to give you that number." Also, why is our samples and private information being carelessly handled?
BioLife Plasma Services - technicians
Lies. First lie, what I had consumed that morning didn't process into sugar...everything you consume processes into sugar. Then she said that it has no protein in it. I let her know that the meal replacement shake had 30g of protein in it. Davida, Aimee, and Andrew are the personnel I spoke with. I would appreciate you not hiring [censored]-kicker technicians. Andrew came up to me and told me that with an hour the nutrients are out of my body. By what elimination process? Urine or defecation? Either way, protein in either one symbolizes disease. Tell him that if he is taking plasma from someone with disease, that's probably why people are having seizures.
