From December 2020 through May 2022, I have tried to cancel this service. They refuse to cancel the service and refuse to repair the service because I did know the secret pass word. When my husband passed away I tried to cancel the service and the company refused to turn it off. By August 2021, I had sold the home. They told me to send the death certificate and then they would turn it off. They continued to bill me which I discovered in February 2022. I then had to stop payment to on the automatic withdrawal. They then began to harass me about back payments for a service I was not receiving even though I no longer lived in the home. I have now filed a complaint with the Michigan Attorney General to try and recoup my past payments and to end this nightmare. NEVER! Get this service. They even told me that I had signed an agreement to pay for the service a year and a half after I cancel it. This is absolute lunacy! Never! Get this service!
Desired outcome: Back pay of 17 months of payment of $44.00 per month, approximately $800.00.
NorthStar Alarm Services - Quit the service quit paying for something we aren't receiving
Our system has been reporting low battery, it continues to beep that the system is not working. We have contacted the company over 15 times they continue to have tech support walk us through all the steps, it fails to correct the issues and usually creates another problem. We have had this service for over 4 years the last few months have been terrible. Everything on the system has failed. When they send a tech out they repair something then next week the same issue and notices appear! Customer support was a joke! Wanted to credit us 3 months but then add 3 more months to the contract.!
NorthStar Alarm Services - Single family home alarm system canceled & yet, they won't let us go!
My wife and I have been loyal paying customers for nearly 12 years with Northstar Alarm Services. We have not had one incident that the Alarm system was needed in any way over these twelve year. Then, this last July we called their headquarters to cancel our now inflated $57.00 per month service with them. Instead of letting us go with a Thank You Mr. & Mrs. Miller for your nearly twelve years of loyalty and on time payments, we got the real run around. "Can we lower our fees to keep you?; Why are you wanting to leave us?" Well, we have the RING on our front door and it is much better than your service and only costs us $3.00 per month for up to a month of video surveillance kept and backed up on their Server. Then, to top it off, Cole tells us that we may not get out of the contract unless we cancel it two full months ahead and that we will have to charge your the next full year beginning August 19, 2021. So, we headed to our bank, paid a fee and canceled Northstar Alarm Services from collecting any more money from us. So sad to see these type of business practices. This is completely Evil and disrespectful to their Customers. They are continuing to call, text and email for more money. Shameful! We took down every sticker and sign that had Northstar Services on or near our home. Ironic, they don't even send anyone to disconnect all of their hardware off your home.
Desired outcome: We will let you all know when they show us some JUSTICE. Please share any helpful feedback if you are able. Mr. & Mrs. Miller of Everett, WA
NorthStar Alarm Services - Northstar service contract
I was never given notice of renewal on my contract. It auto-renewed after 5 years without me being notified for an 18 month term and then auto-renewed again as of July 1, 2021 for another 18 month term. When I went to cancel the now out-dated system on 7/28/2021 they said I was on the hook until January 2023. Is that even legal? No notification? Just magnifying glass sized fine-print on an 8 year old contract?
Desired outcome: Get out of contract
NorthStar Alarm Services - Home alarm
I sold my home in November, 2020. I was informed that I would have to pay the additional amount owed on the contract. I did not sign a contract. A representative contacted me with a telephone conversation. This conversation consisted of the representative asking questions and the person on the other end of the phone answering "yes" or "no". Quite conveniently, no conversation was carried on to identify the person on the other end of the of the telephone. A copy of the contract was sent to me via the internet and the signature and the initials WERE NOT mine. I complained about this to the person on the phone and he said that the initials and the signature were put in place during the above noted telephone call. It was all a "verbal agreement".
I do not feel that I owe anything. I paid my $49.99 a month from June, 2018, until November17, 2020. All the equipment is still in the House if you want it.

NorthStar Alarm Services - Contract cancellation - acct # [protected]
We have completed our 5 year contract with northstar and notified the company more than 90 days ago that we wished to cancel. They claim we have not contacted them and are trying to auto-renew for an additional 18 months. I am reporting their charges as fraud to our credit card company. Do not do business with these people. Read the hundreds of complaints on several different blogs before selecting an alarm company. Northstar is absolutely horrible to deal with.
NorthStar Alarm Services - Alarm system
The company is awful and DO NOT care at all about their customers! I have been a loyal customer for 7 years and have gotten treated like crap by The employees. I went 7 months with the company having the wrong address down on my file, so in the case of an emergency they would have sent emergency responders to my old address, which could have been tragic! This should have never happened considering they came and installed all the equipment at the new place. That's only one issue I have had with them, it also took over 60 days for them to install the system at my new house. Their contract states that they have to have everything done within 20 days and when I called them on it and asked to be let out of my contract, they refused to do so and are wanting me to pay $1700 for the termination fee. They even admitted on the company's recorded line that they were in the wrong, but didn't think it was serious enough to terminate the contract. I have spent two weeks trying to speak with someone higher up and NO ONE will return my emails or phone calls. Im tired of being ignored! THEY HAVE BEEN AWFUL TO WORK WITH!
