On August 10th 2023 I went to Red Robin and ordered my usual: impossible burger, no cheese, gluten free bun.
I always have had a great experience, but I’m appalled at this one. I’m a vegetarian and haven’t had meat in years. I love impossible burgers and they’re obviously not the same tasting or looking as meat. Well this time I ordered the usual, and I was brought out what was clearly a normal burger. They but the flag in it that said it was an impossible burger, but it was meat. It wasn’t a normal impossible burger that’s shaped like a puck, this was beef that had been squashed into a large puck shape. It didn’t even fit the burger, it was overflowing. I looked at it and thought it looked wrong, but took a bite anyway. It was beef. I told the waitress this was meat and she said she’d take it back and ask the cooks. The cooks lied and said it was an impossible burger, and that they had just pounded it down. I was quite angry. I don’t know what they were thinking, but I’m disgusted with the behavior. If they couldn’t give me an impossible burger they could have told me and I would have ordered a salad. It is funny that they were careful with the gluten free bun, but decided on beef for a vegetarian.
Desired outcome: I would like an apology and better training so this doesn’t happen again. I don’t need a refund because it was a gift from someone.
