On Saturday, 10/12/19, I came to the store to return some ornaments I had purchased that had some chips and a couple broken pieces. I motioned to the girl behind the counter that I was just wanted to exchange what was in my bag for the same characters (that aren't broken). An assistant manager named Meg approached me and said "what's wrong with them?", I explained and she asked me for my receipt. I did not have my receipt but all the ornaments had the tags on them still and they had only recently gotten them in store. I explained I got them the week prior and I just wanted to exchange. She talked to me in a very stern disciplinary tone and asked "who wrapped these?" I told her I didn't know, because I don't know everyone in the store since it's rare I shop there. She shook her head and said "well we don't wrap in plastic, we have paper to wrap in". In the mean time, my two kids were standing looking at the ornaments. I reminded them not to touch but that they can look. They are 6 and 3. She told me she NEEDED to find my receipt, and asked if I had the card I purchased with. Then she turned abs told my kids to not touch the ornaments that they weren't touching. I dig through my wallet and pulled out 4 of the 5 credit cards I could have used and explained my other one is likely the one I used because it's my bank card and I left it in my scrubs. She told me to check all 4 of my cards. I stood there doing this for her to find this receipt that she HAD to have to exchange these ornaments. I couldn't help but notice her distracted but turning around and looking at my kids looking at the ornaments. She was causing me stress that they were doing something wrong but they weren't. Her body language and angst was OBVIOUS that she didn't want them touching the ornaments. I'm she had me wrapped up into her angst and insistence that I needed my receipt and about who wrapped the ornaments in plastic. I answered that several times as she asked me about 5 times during the interaction. She ran to the back to get one that wasn't on the wall. When she returned, I asked about the Halloween event and she said I had to RSVP to attend on Disney's site. I asked if there were any no shows and she said no.(not sure how she knew that since I'd been doing this exchange with her for about 15 min now). After the rude encounter with her, I didn't want to leave Disney with a bad taste so I wandered the store hoping to pick up some magic feelings again. The kids saw the Halloween event starting and wanted to watch. They did not enter the area but stood back by the grown ups. I looked into the event and there were 8 kids I could see. The adult I stood next to said the asst manager told them to block the entrance but she let my kids stand by her so they could see. Then 4 kids about ages 8 squeezes in and stood in the area where the other kids were to watch the show. My stood and watched for a min next to me, then Meg the asst manager pushed in behind us shouting that if you didn't RSVP you could see the show. She grabbed those 4 kids and pushed them out saying they couldn't see it. She then grabbed stickers and put them on the shirts of the kids that did RSVP and announced that note she will know if anyone tries to get in that didn't RSVP. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. This is NOT how Disney does things. Clearly some of the people didn't show for the event. Why kick kids out? Why be irritated that kids are looking at things? They are why she has a job at Disney. I don't think this woman has kids. Is she Does, there is no way they will be Disney fans if she is the example. I have never left Disney store or Disney feeling angry. This day I did and it was all because of my interaction with this woman and witnessing what she did to those kids. Absolutely disgusting behavior and NOT kid friendly.
