Allied Cash Advance - Overcharged

These payday companies are out of control. This particular lender realized Virginia was on to them about payday loans and now they offer long term loans. But at what cost? I got a 1000 dollar loan and never realized the fee for being a day late. I was a day late and had my wife go in the day after the due date to pay the minimum payment. Since I work two full time jobs I did not have the time.

Well, the payment was made but I received a letter from them stating I owed 600 bucks in late fees. I was shocked and couldn't believe it. Well, as it turns out, they if you are a day late they charge you 30% of the balance of the loan. But wait there is more, they also charge for the current month and the next month. So you are charged 60%. In my case I was charged 600 bucks for being late on a 30 dollar payment. And I was only one day late. And that was because the due dates are never the same date. The date changes month to month.

Please be aware... This needs to stop...

To all of the customers who owe money to Allied Cash Advance:
Pay off your loan and take your business elsewhere. If you can't pay off your loan, CLOSE your checking account immediately! They will continue to try to take the money out of your account everyday until they get the money. They will also ACH your account to get the money. They will submit an ACH to your bank on your paydays to get the money. The only way to avoid this is to close your account!

TO: Indiana Cash Advance Customers:
Allied Cash Advance does NOT want the customers of Indiana to know this valuable information. When you take out 3 consecutive loans, you are eligible for the Indiana Extendend Payment Plan (EPP). The EPP allows you to make 4 payments on the balance of your loan.
Example: Your balance is $400. You would re-pay 4 payments of $100. Here is the best part: Once you make the 4th payment and pay off this loan, you can re-borrow the money and go right back on the EPP and you can do this 3 consecutive times. You are allowed a total of 6 loans. Loans 1, 2, 3 - you must borrow and repay. Loans 4, 5, 6 - you are eligible for the EPP. This company does not tell you this because they don't make any money on these EPP's.

As a former employee I can also tell you that they charge you a repo fee also the day after your due date, along with a large amount of late fees. I would suggest to find out the pay off and pay it ASAP. If not your total repayment will be nearly 3000.00 if not more. There coporate number is [protected].

Well I took out a title loan on my car back in May of 2009 due to my wife having difficulty finding a job for 4 months and being behind on the rent. I joined the Army in November of that year and couple of months ago notified Allied, through certified letter, of my invocation of the Sailors and Soldiers Civil Relief Act. It is now September and I am in Iraq. My wife just informed me that they are threatening to repossess my vehicle if the full amount of the loan is not paid off, plus 180% interest. The SSCRA states that the interest rate must be adjusted to no more than 6% and any interest and/or late fees as of the date of my enlistment must be forgiven and/or refunded. It also states that the means in which I can be penalized are VERY limited, including that the vehicle can not be repoed due to my obvious inability to appear in court . They are now passively refusing to comply with the SSCRA and federal law. This is definitely putting undo stress on myself and my wife who is now the sole care-taker of our 2 year-old son and newborn baby girl due to my deployment. The manager at the office, a woman named Jessica, has stated several times that she cannot put us in contact with their legal dept. or home office... I'm really not sure what to do about all of this. It's REALLY beginning to stress my wife out...

This place suffers from lack of proper management. The said manager, Victoria does not exemplify customer service as we all know it. She was not professional, and literally LOL, when she was aware that she had made me upset. Her tone was completely unacceptable and she was very unpleasant. This company is created to help people in there time of need, does she not stand behind that statement? The worse of it all, I am not a customer of Allied Cash Advance, I underwent this insulting treatment due to being a mere reference on someone's account. I have been in the client service industry 11 years and her lack of professionalism makes it hard to respect the company if Mangers such as Victoria are on the front line. Do you think I will turn here in my economic time of need? Hopefully you think long and hard... perhaps travel to emeryville or their sister branch in your are, but by all means do NOT stop here. You have been warned!

Allied Cash Advance has surrendered its payday loan license in Virginia and is apparently now going to just unregulated open-end loans. I would like to hear more about your problems with Allied. I am working with a coalition of many groups that are trying to cap the fees and interest these places charge at a reasonable rate and we want these unregulated open-end loans to be regulated.
