Virginia Employment Commission [VEC] - Unemployment customer portal

Receive this message when trying to login:

"We are not able to authenticate your digital identity based on the information you provided or the device you are using. As a result, please call the Customer Contact Center at [protected] for further assistance."

Call the number can't reach a human ever. I have emailed and called local unemployment office but without any aid.

Desired outcome: Fix this computer system or have humans available to assist.

Virginia Employment Commission [VEC] - Online and phone systems for vec

There are no words that can describe the disfunction of the VEC online and phone systems. I have been trying for over a month to successfuly get set up in the system and file weekly claims. It is virtually impossible to speak with someone due to the phone systems confusing menus that force you to spend a significant amount of time listening to pre-recorded messages over and over and choosing menu options and entering personal information only to be told that: 1. you can't be helped today, call back another day, 2. your call will be put into a queue and you will likely be called back within 2 days, but then the message says you chose the option to enter a different phone number, which I didn't and it doesn't understand the number I entered, so it hangs up on you.

This is THE WORST experience I have ever had with any government process in my 63 years on this planet. VEC couldn't make it any worse if they tried. I am so frustrated. I don't know what to do. All state governement officials should be ashamed of this.

Desired outcome: I'd like to talk to a live person and have my issues resolved so that I can begin to receive the benefits I am supposed to be eligible for

I am having similar issues. The phone systems send you in circles and do not bring you to any live person. I have even called local offices and emailed local offices with no response. I have never been through this process before but I received all mailed documents suggesting my profile should be fine and have followed all VEC guidelines with my claims but no payment or response to me. I have patiently waited a month and still nothing.
