It's Just Lunch [IJL]

I signed up after several solicitation phone calls where all types of promises were made. They offered me a $200 discount off of the $1500 price since they really needed women my age. They described all these perfect dates and really laid on the pressure. There were so many men my age that were perfect matches for me. With some hesitancy I joined. 5 years ago when they opened, I had a trial membership for under $100 and never had a date that I would even consider going out with twice. So I was somewhat concerned and was told the pool is so much bigger now.
When I was emailed the contract, I was concerned because it said they only had to provide 12 dates or 12 months. whichever comes later. I was told that they had so many men lined up that I would be going out every week if I wanted. I also was concerned because the conrtract is totally one sided, giving them the right to cancel and me the right only if they don't come up with the number agreed to.

It went down hill from there. I went on a first date in Nov. the week I joined and the guy actually was not bad. He wanted me to come to his place on the first date and I was not comfortable with that. Went on a second date and he spoke alot about all the women he dates from Match, first date sex, etc and i found it very demeaning. The second date was a month later and he was not my type at all. He was leaving to go to FLa for the winter so I would not consider him an available date. He told me they sent him on dates with all the women and sometimes begged him to go out because they did not have enough men for our age bracket. He also told me he was offered a renewal for $600 and it was a one day offer that he took. I started getting even more suspicious.

I was never contacted to follow up on how the second date went. After about 5 weeks, I called and sent an email, letting IJL know that I was unhappy and considered it a scam. Jolene, the manager, called and made all sorts of promises about all of the men and she would have me out there dating. She had gotten married and been gone for 2 weeks and she was sorry things were not going well. I also was n ot contacted to update my 5 year old interview.

I gave them one last chance and Canyon, called to see available dates. A date was made for aThursday, a week away and
he cancelled early in the week. I again gave Canyon available dates and never heard form him. I called again after the available dates had passed and again spoke to the manager, who was floored at the lack of attention I was getting from her scheduler. I told her I had had enough of their unfair business practices and was only interested in a prorated refund.
She responded that she could only put my membership on hold. I told her that was not satsifactory. 2 days later her scheduler called begging me to go out and describing all kinds of guys and exerted enormous pressure to the point that I had to tell him I was hanging up.

I have never had such an awful experience with any service I have purchased in my life. These people prey on singles with false promises and deceptive means and this needs to be put to a stop. You would have a better chance of metting someone compatible in the grocery store than with this service. DO NOT SUBJECT YOURSELF TO THIS!
